The area surrounding the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant is the main setting for the sequel. The wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been a long one, but with the long-anticipated open world survival horror FPS drawing closer to its launch a few months down the line, on the 38th anniversary of the Chornobyl nuclear disaster, developer GSC Game World has released a brief new trailer that offers another look at the game.

Ubisoft opens up about new content for Assassin's Creed Mirage, confirming that it won't get any DLC, but the devs may not be done exploring Basim's story. This latest title in the franchise received considerable recognition from new and long-term fans of the hooded protagonists. With Assassin's Creed Mirage, the franchise went back to its roots by offering a compelling and story-driven narrative that die-hard AC fans were waiting for.

Allegedly in the works since as far back as 2018, Resident Evil 9 is set to have the longest ever development cycle for a Resident Evil game by the time it launches, which, as per prior reports, is going hand-in-hand with the series’ largest ever budget for a single game to date. It seems, however, that Capcom might have pushed back the game further out than originally planned to give it even more time in the oven.

After ending its open beta last year, Player First Games’ MultiVersus will fully launch next month. Alongside new characters, netcode changes, a PvE Mode, a shift to Unreal Engine 5 and more, several changes and new mechanics have been added. These include new Dash Attacks.

Capcom has released a new Title Update for Dragon's Dogma 2, heavily nerfing the controversial dragonsplague feature, among other changes. Dragon's Dogma 2 was first released in late March, and Capcom has already released several updates to fix bugs and tweak features in the game.

Coming from the creative leads of Persona 3, 4, and 5, Metaphor: ReFantazio is obviously borrowing plenty of elements from the Persona series, but Atlus’ upcoming RPG is also going to put its own twist in that formula in a number of ways, appropriately enough for an entirely new IP. Take, for instance, its blend of real-time and turn-based combat mechanics, or how it will handle exploration throughout its map. Another area where the fantasy RPG will differ from Persona games is how it’ll handle bonds.

Rabbit and Bear Studios’ Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has seen a long journey since its 2020 Kickstarter (including the passing of director Yoshitaka Murayama), but is now finally playable. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch version has some issues, including a bug preventing a major character’s recruitment.

Last year’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage was very much a back-to-the-basics moment for Ubisoft’s flagship franchise, opting to have a smaller world with a gameplay loop focused on stealth and parkouring, rather than the RPG mechanics that the series has become known for. Whether or not we’ll ever see a direct follow-up to Mirage is a question that some series fans have wondered at since the game launched last October, and though there’s no concrete answers on that front yet, its development team certainly seems open to the idea of making more games with Mirage’s protagonist Basim.

With Destiny 2: The Final Shape, players will tackle familiar foes inside the Pale Heart of the Traveler en route to fighting The Witness. However, they also have to tackle the Dread, a race of Rhulk-like beings loyal to the latter. Check out the brief trailer below, which highlights two types of Dread: the Harbinger and the Weaver.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has added two brand-new Secret Packs to the popular digital card game, allowing players to easily pick up powerful strategies like «Floowandereeze» and «Shark.» The beloved online TCG from Konami features a variety of ways for players to acquire new cards for their favorite Master Duel decks, with both packs for players to open and a robust crafting system. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has regularly implemented new packs as well, adding even more cards from the TCG and OCG to the game. Now, multiple themes already in the game are getting their own packs.

Developer Iron Gate Studio has just released update 0.218.11 for the Public Test Build of its popular open-world survival game, Valheim. The build, which is less stable as it is used to check upcoming updates for the game, recently received a major content drop that introduced a new biome, equipment, and enemies, among other things.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is set to roll out a ton of new content on May 1. This includes two new characters, as well as the introduction of the Thrills and Frills update and The Spark of Imagination, part of the Disney Dreamlight Valley expansion pass, A Rift In Time, which launched in December.

May 30 is going to be a sad day for many fans of Xbox, as the company will begin deleting game captures on that date. The changes coming to Xbox will only be for content stored on the Xbox Network, so gamers storing their game captures through this will need to think of a backup plan.

Ubisoft has release Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora update 3.2, bringing with it a 40 FPS performance mode for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A potential downside to the update on PC is the removal of AMD FSR 3 support, while Ubisoft work to fix artifacting issues with FSR 3 Frame Generation.

Developer Hexworks has unveiled Lords of the Fallen’s update 1.5, bringing a robust modifier system that introduces a Roguelite mode. This Lords of the Fallen’s final free update marks the culmination of ongoing enhancements since the game's release, prioritizing performance boosts, stability improvements, and a wealth of new features.

Tomas Salas’ Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles launched as a sizable follow-up to The Falconeer that veers into the city-builder genre. Atlus game fans are looking forward to Metaphor: ReFantazio, but the game is going to be missing a common mechanic of Persona games that players enjoy: building romances with NPCs. While the mechanic may be missed, it's another indication that Metaphor: ReFantazio and its Shin Megami Tensei and Persona predecessors do differ, despite their similarities.

Moon Studios’ action RPG No Rest for the Wicked, currently in Steam Early Access, has received a new hotfix. Hotfix 4 offers one performance improvement, fixing a GPU culling leak, but adjusts several gameplay features. One of the most important is that Bounties and Challenges will no longer be deleted if you abandon them, which is excellent news.

A group of Valheim players has built an impressive Black Forest mansion by clearing out a large section of trees. The Valheim Black Forest is one of the densest areas of the game, and it's rich with resources that these players likely depleted for their mansion build.

343 Industries has revealed the features coming in Halo Infinite's next Content Update, called Banished Honor, including a new Shop section that uses free-to-earn currency, another Operation Pass, Forge improvements, and more. The Halo Infinite update is set to release on April 30.

Xbox and Marvel Animation have teamed up to create an X-Men 97 inspired Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X console comes with a unique Xbox controller designed after Wolverine. X-Men 97 is an all-new series with 6 episodes currently on Disney Plus. The show continues the story of the original X-Men cartoon from the 90s with characters like Wolverine, Jubilee, and Magneto.

Game Update 6 for MLB The Show 24 has just been released, bringing new content and several bug fixes to the baseball title. The most recent patches for the Major League Baseball game have not made any gameplay changes.

Unicorn Overlord received the 1.04 update with bug fixes, performance enhancements, stability improvements, and new features. Ubisoft's latest open world adventure game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was released just before the end of 2023 and has mainly been praised for its stunning first-person visuals. Set in the timeline of the blockbuster films, Frontiers of Pandora gives players control of a young Na'vi as they escape and fight back against the RDA.

As was previously leaked, the critically-acclaimed 2023 action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on Thursday, April 25. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate features a number of exclusive perks to help justify its higher cost compared to the other Game Pass tiers, with one of the big selling points being its access to the EA Play library of games.

Behaviour Interactive has released a brand-new update for the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight that actually reduces the overall file size for the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. As a live service game, Dead by Daylight is supported with frequent updates. Stellar Blade's age rating has prompted a senior Electronics Arts official to throw shade at Japan's Computer Entertainment Rating Organization. The regulator recently attached a CERO D classification to Stellar Blade, which some industry watchers found surprising.

If you’ve held off on playing Shin Megami Tensei 5 since its launch for the Nintendo Switch in 2021, your patience is set to be rewarded. Not only is the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance set to bring Atlus’ acclaimed RPG to non-Switch platforms, it will also bring with it a truckload of new content in the form of a new playable character, over 75 hours of additional gameplay, and much more. Also included in that deluge of additions is a host of new music- which, of course, is always a crucial part of Atlus-developed games.

The next update for Payday 3 will finally add quickplay and player merging to the game, developer Starbreeze Studios announced seven months after the troubled shooter was released. The previous update, 1.1.1, for the Deep Silver-published game introduced more than 300 bug fixes, a new hardcore challenge, and improved gameplay performance.

One Starfield fan has recently devised a peculiar ship-stealing strategy that requires some precision and cold-bloodedness to execute but is ultimately surprisingly effective, and works with fairly minimal prep work. The newly detailed methodology may help convince some Starfield players to give the idea of space piracy another go.

Xbox Game Pass is making four more games available to subscribers, including a day-one launch title and three additions for Core members. Xbox Game Pass Core, which launched in September 2023, replaced Xbox Live Gold and did away with the two free games subscribers received each month. Instead, for the same price, Core offers a catalog of more than 25 games for members to enjoy at their leisure, and the selection of titles changes about two to three times per year.

Reviews are in for the latest upcoming day-one Xbox Game Pass game, and they're largely positive. It looks like JRPG fans that are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass will be in for a treat when the newest addition to the catalog gets added on April 23. Microsoft has been on a bit of a roll recently when it comes to supplying subscribers with a steady stream of quality games, and this only continues that trend.

Along with announcing an October release date for Metaphor: ReFantazio, Atlus has revealed a bunch of new details on the fantasy RPG’s combat and dungeons, cities and exploration, and much more. In addition to that, with pre-orders for the title going live today, the company has also revealed a physical Collector’s Edition that players will have the option of picking up.
