Star Trek’s future is a secular one. Franchise creator Gene Roddenberry was an avowed atheist, and the series and its spin-offs have routinely criticized organized religion as manipulative, illogical, and detrimental to the evolution of a society. Individual members of the human race may have an undefined spirituality, a curiosity about the afterlife, or a sense of wonder at the unknown or unknowable, but specific religious beliefs are typically reserved for alien cultures.
Fortnite only just added the Yoda Backbling to the game last week and it's already been removed by Epic due to it causing crashes in Battle Royale matches.
Star Wars Outlaws devs say the game's reputation system is designed to shape the world around protagonist Kay Vess, rather than the story that you're playing through.

If new 2.3 Leaks are to be believed, it seems like the game’s best team comp is getting another buff as HoYoverse doubles down on one gameplay mechanic. Currently, the turn-based RPG is in the early stages of Version 2.2, an anticipated patch that brings forth the final missions in the main Penacony storyline – there will likely be more content related to the Planet of Festivities in the future, though the central questline is complete. The release of Robin and Boothill in 2.2 is also noteworthy, as both are deemed as strong characters.
Movie stars at the top of their game can often feel invincible, but there was something about Dwayne Johnson’s 2000s climb from wrestler to bankable Hollywood star that seemed uniquely bulletproof. Possessing an endless supply of charm and an aggressive careerist streak, “The Rock” seemed to will his way to the top of the wrestling world and then the box office, managing the tricky maneuver of being ever-present — on the big screen, in random TV appearances, on Instagram — yet not suffocating.
LEGO Fortnite, in the few months since its launch, has proven that it's not just a gimmick.
The bountiful creations of the late Akira Toriyama are household names, but you won’t find any of his most well-known characters in Sand Land. His lesser-known graphic novel has remained a footnote when compared to Dragon Ball Z’s prodigious success, but it’s clear that someone out there thinks that now is Sand Land’s time, with the arrival of a movie, an animated series, and a video game adaptation, all in the last six months. This multi-format assault showcases that the genius of Akira Toriyama extended far beyond the Dragon Balls, and while it might have taken a long time coming, it was well worth the wait.

Although Star Wars has become a fixture of movie culture over the generations, it's also left a signature stamp on the world of video games. From LEGO spin-offs and NES movie adaptations to pod-racing simulators, it's hard to talk to someone about games they loved as a kid without the words Star Wars cropping up in there somewhere.
If you’ve been to movie theaters much in the post-quarantine years, you’ve surely seen a certain kind of pre-show message where a stars appears on screen to thank the audience for seeing their film the way they wanted it to be seen: on the big screen. (The funniest case for me was when a pre-recorded Margot Robbie thanked me for seeing her new film Babylon with an audience in a crowded theater. There were three other people there.) The new action-comedy The Fall Guy opens with one of those bumpers, with star Ryan Gosling and director David Leitch bantering about how they had you — yes you — in mind when they made the movie, and that they hope you enjoy it. It’s cute, it’s earnest, and it’s meant to get you excited about the blockbuster you’re about to see.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is 25 years old and back in theaters for Star Wars Day (“May the 4th be with you”), inevitably setting off a new round of debate about the movie, the prequel trilogy as a whole, and the current, sometimes frustrating, state of Star Wars media. Though The Phantom Menace has been heavily criticized, it’s also been re-examined and even embraced over the past few decades. There are memes that celebrate the highly dramatic dialogue and direct references in tentpoles like Solo. The kids who grew up with the prequels as their main Star Wars movies have spoken up to defend them.

At the height of John Green’s popularity, most people knew the YA author for a very specific genre: sad teen books, usually about shy-yet-pretentious boys in love with spirited yet emotionally available girls. That was always a derogatory oversimplification of Green’s novels, which often deconstruct common YA tropes more than they give into them. But years of warped online perspectives on Green’s work, heightened by aesthetic Tumblr posts and Pinterest mood boards, meant that when the 2014 movie adaptation of Green’s tragic teen romance The Fault in Our Stars came out, the were calcified, preconceived notions of what a John Green Book™ was. (Never mind thatThe Fault in Our Stars flipped the gender roles, with a reserved girl and a vivacious boy.)

PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra have been around for almost two years, and during that time the subscription service has established itself as an ample competitor to Xbox Game Pass. That means there is a wealth of great games for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners to check out if they’re looking for something to play this weekend. I think PS Plus subscribers should be looking toward some of the more underrated games in the subscription service this weekend too.
I wouldn’t blame you if you forgot PlayStation Stars existed. In fact, I would guess the majority of people out there have no idea what that even is, but PlayStation’s reward program deserves more attention than it’s getting.
A new Fortnite update is arriving today (Friday 3rd May 2024), bringing a whole load of new Star Wars content into the game.
Fortnite's yearly Star Wars update is here and it brings with it a new Wookie Bowcaster weapon, Lightsabers in Lego Fortnite, and a Yoda Backbling, but the real highlight is the return of the Olympic Mythics.
Star Wars is an absolutely massive franchise, spanning hundreds of projects ranging from movies and video games to comics and short novels. It can be difficult to fit all of those projects into one established canon, which is why older titles such as the beloved Star Wars FPS Republic Commando can fall by the wayside a little bit.
Thank your own personal deity—possibly C-3PO as worshipped by Ewoks—it's Friday! Obviously, the two biggest headliners are those freebies—LEGO Star Wars III and Tomb Raider [2013]. Whip up a free (and easily ditched) Amazon Prime Gaming subscription to have and to hold them forever in your GOG library. I recently replayed Lara's reboot as part of the ongoing gaming education of my eldest. Still stands up as a well-Crofted action adventure.
It seems like every time a new Fortnite crossover is announced these days, you'll find a gaggle of angry fans complaining about its pricing not too far behind. Last month, it was the price of Fortnite's avatar collaboration skins that got fans fired up, and now they've taken aim at the game's upcoming collaboration with Star Wars, once again due to the pricing.
In the biggest LEGO Fortnite collaboration to date, characters and items from Star Wars are coming to the brick-based Fortnite spin-off later this week.
Despite having the best-selling game of all time in Grand Theft Auto V, and GTA VI on the way, mega publisher Take-Two Interactive have been going through some belt-tightening, recently cutting 5 percent of its workforce and canceling some projects. When the news of the cuts were first announced, we didn’t know exactly who was impacted or which games had been canned, but we may now have a better idea.
Take-Two is closing two game studios under their Private Division label, with Kerbal Space Program 2 developer Intercept Games shutting down (as we already knew) and OlliOlli and Rollerdrome studio Roll7 following them into the twilight.
Star Wars and Fortnite have always enjoyed a fruitful partnership, but now Disney’s put its sizeable bank balance behind Epic Games, there was always the possibility of a greater collaboration. And after weeks of teasing, that’s exactly what’s been announced. Beginning from 3rd May, the eve of Star Wars Day, you can expect an epic collaboration with George Lucas’ sci-fi series which will extend to virtually all aspects of the culturally colossal video game platform.
If you’re not familiar with the Playdate, it’s the dinky yellow handheld with a crank that’s actively coveting a hobbyist, indie game development crowd. It’s home to a number of unique experiences already, but for PlayStation fans, this may be the most intriguing outing yet: Psygnosis’ legendary PS1 racer WipEout, rendered in beautiful black-and-white polygons.
Revolutionary RPG Baldur's Gate 3 was the surpise hit of 2023; a confluence of contributing factors that led to Larian's creating a once-in-a-generation level experience. But Larian has left the building, moving onwards and upwards, and ultimate IP holder Hasbro has already made a $1 billion bet on internal game development.

In today's tech-driven world, geysers have evolved into crucial modern home appliances, providing comforting hot water in minutes- a true blessing for those accustomed to warmer climates.
The interactive story game genre hasn’t had many wins in recent years. Not when you compare new titles like The Quarry and Life is Strange versus classics like Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, Max Payne 1, and Half-Life. Heavy Rain, which essentially kick-started a whole genre back in 2010, was universally praised for its unique concept. Isn’t it time for Heavy Rain 2?
In the late ’80s and early ’90s, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal were two of the hottest action stars on the planet. While it’s expected there would be natural competition between them, such as what existed between Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger for decades, their rivalry was far more fierce and extended beyond competing for parts and franchises. In fact, the two almost came to blows in the late ’90s.
Always in motion is the future of the Star Wars universe… at least when it comes to movies and television, where well more than half of the projects currently in development still have no publicly available release date. The world of Star Wars tabletop games, on the other hand, is a bit more predictable. Both this year and last, it seems like new releases have been coming down the Pyke just about every few months. Taken together with some excellent older titles still in print, it’s clear to me that we’re living in a golden age of Star Wars board games — especially if you roll in card games, TTRPGs, and miniatures games as well. Here are the very best ones.
Get ready to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4th in a big way with the all-new Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron from Jazwares! This exciting line of officially licensed collectibles features meticulously detailed starships and iconic characters in a variety of sizes, perfect for fans of all ages.
Pick up a Star War for minimal monies—that's the motto of the day, friends. Why? Because apparently we can't just corral all of the deals specifically onto May the 4th anymore. I'm not complaining, of course, you can feed me cheap games wrapped in bad wordplay 365 days of the year. Especially if it has sweet lightsaber action in it!
Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace is returning to movie theaters on May 3 to celebrate its 25th anniversary. This essay was inspired by its re-release.
No one is surprised that Dune: Part Two has turned into one of 2024’s biggest movies. Denis Villeneuve’s blockbuster sequel is full of bona fide movie stars, and it’s excellent to boot. What did come as a surprise, however, is that the movie’s AMC Theatres promotional popcorn bucket got almost as much buzz as the movie itself in the weeks before release. The sandworm-shaped bucket that lets patrons reach into the worm’s maw for a handful of popcorn is incredible, unique, and vaguely off-putting in a way that took the internet by storm the instant it appeared online.
A new developer stream for Star Wars: The Old Republic showed a surprising feature on the way in Game Update 7.5. Players will be able to earn their own farmstead on the planet of Dantooine after completing a quest chain. The cozy feature will come with a Spring Abundance festival, which includes the surprisingly comfortable activities of “seed collecting, dancing, pie-baking, animal rehabilitation, and a galactic egg hunt,” according to a press release.
Star Wars Day is right around the corner which means the frequency of deals and product reveals to celebrate May 4 is starting to ramp up. One of the most unique celebrations of the event will be at Heroes & Villains. Not just because the site is launching a range of exclusive new Star Wars t-shirts, but because it will be launching one of its four new designs per day between May 2 and May 5, and once that design's day is over, that t-shirt will be gone forever.

The early portion of the year is always slow for tabletop releases. The deluge begins in the summer once convention season kicks off and then carries on through the holidays. Despite the transition period we’re now in, there has been a small collection of exciting new games that have emerged. These six titles contain innovative ideas, creative adaptations, or clever twists on existing systems.
After seemingly endless delays, the Star Wars: Hunters release date has at long last been confirmed! Best of all, it's launching soon.
Not to embrace my inner Palpatine and deal in absolutes, but Star Wars Squadrons (PC, XO) going for $2.99 is an absolutely sith hot deal. First of all, it's just a great game. Second of all, it has cross-platform multi, which means you're much more likely to find like-minded pilots to explode. And lastly, (on the platforms that support it) it provides some of the best wish fulfilment VR action one can buy—for two dollars, ninety-nine.
In Timerunning: Pandaria, players can collect a new fourth tint for Mists of Pandaria raid weapons. As MoP raids only had three difficulty tiers, there were some excess weapon tints that never made it into the game. Over time, Blizzard has put some of these tints on later rewards, such as Plundered Paragon's Mace from Islands being a recolor of Kri'tak, Imperial Scepter of the Swarm, but others never had a source until now. These include weapons with distinctive Sha details, such as Soulsever, Pride's Gaze, Greatsword of Fallen Pride, and Xal'atoh, Malformed Image of Gorehowl. Below is a list of the unused weapon tints introduced in Timerunning: Pandaria. If the fourth weapon tint can already be acquired from content in later expansions, we have not included it on this list. Let us know which new tints you like the best!
Farming the right materials for Robin’s character Ascension in is a necessary step when optimizing her as a support unit for your various team comps. Robin is a 5-star support unit added with Version 2.2 and, within the story, she is a well-known pop star from the planet of Penacony. She is Sunday’s sister and a member of the Oak Family in the Planet of Festivities. Robin is one of the new characters in 2.2, along with the DPS Boothill. In combat, she uses Physical DMG and follows the Path of the Harmony.
