Survios, the team behind PSVR games CREED: Rise to Glory, Sprint Vector, and The Walking Dead Onslaught, has today revealed it's working on a new PSVR2 game set in the Alien universe called Alien: Rogue Incursion. It is described as an «intense single-player, action horror game», set to release for Sony's VR headset later this year alongside Meta Quest 3 and Steam VR versions.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered developer Aspyr has confirmed the Lara Croft posters removed from the recent PS5, PS4 collection will be restored in its next patch. Without saying when the update will land, the team explains that the posters were «inadvertently removed» as a result of «several texture and graphical updates to the HD version».

The long-awaited Lost Soul Aside out of Sony's own China Hero Project could be nearing the development finish line as the PS5, PS4 title has been handed a Chinese age rating, clearing it for release in the country. Daniel Ahmad, an analyst at Niko Partners, adds this likely means news surrounding the game's final release will likely be shared soon, potentially within the next three months.

Ori maker Moon Studios is trying something different with its new, upcoming title No Rest for the Wicked, an isometric action RPG that can be just as colourful as it is dark. The game is slated to launch for PS5 when it reaches a 1.0 state, but until then, an early access phase is being conducted on PC, where its initial release has been met with positivity.

Gran Turismo 7 has been freshly updated to version number 1.46 on PS5 and PS4, with the update adding a new car to the game you won't find anywhere else: the Škoda Vision Gran Turismo. Designed entirely around the Polyphony Digital racer, it's Škoda's first appearance in the franchise and is seen as a «visionary study of a single-seater, all-electric racing concept car».

Sony and Shift Up have put out a new Stellar Blade trailer to mark the PS5 exclusive's launch, with the release date set for tomorrow, 26th April 2024. Like a lot of launch trailers, the two-minute slice of footage features a lot of cutscenes and stretches of gameplay we haven't seen before, so you might want to skip it given the full launch is so close. If you've pre-ordered the Premium Edition for Sea of Thieves off the PS Store, your seafaring quest can now begin on PS5 via five days of early access ahead of the official release date. Making its first appearance on Sony hardware, Rare brought its servers online for PS5 players, allowing them to get started on plundering islands and sailing the seas. This means PlayStation users can play the last few days of Season 11, before the next one starts on the official release date of 30th April 2024.

Almost five million players were immersed in a Fallout game across a single day as a result of the TV show's popularity, Bethesda has revealed. Without saying when — but presumably on the weekend — the franchise's official Twitter profile shared that more than one million people played Fallout 76 within a single 24-hour period. Then, when taking the entire RPG series into account, there were nearly five million users on that same day.

Assassin's Creed Hexe, which is currently a code name and is set to launch after the Japan-set Assassin's Creed Red, is the subject of a new report from Insider Gaming, which claims the title is aiming for a release in 2026. You'll apparently be playing as a female protagonist called Elsa, who comes equipped with supernatural abilities. One of which is said to be the ability to control cats, with footage sent to the outlet supposedly depicting a chase sequence where the player distracts guards by taking control of a feline.

Lords of the Fallen developer Hexworks has revealed the final free content drop in its post-launch roadmap will take the form of a roguelite modifier system, and it's available on PS5 today. When beginning a fresh playthrough or jumping into New Game+, you'll now have the chance to change the way the game plays and operates across seven modifiers.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been updated to support a new graphical mode running at 40 frames-per-second while boasting higher resolutions. Available to download now on PS5 as part of patch 3.2, the mode can be used on 4K TVs that support up to 120Hz. Prior to this, Avatar PS5 only had Quality and Performance Modes, but this new option looks to feature the best of both worlds after the 2.4GB download.

Sony and Shift Up have published an online comic book for Stellar Blade that appears to serve as a quick prequel to the events of the main game. Available to read through this link, it sees protagonist Eve and another character called Tachy sparring together, and then speaking of an upcoming mission to reclaim Earth. This is what you shall be doing in Stellar Blade once it hits PS5 on Friday.

PS Plus Extra has delivered the second of three PS5 games it has slated to arrive on the service the moment it releases across April and May 2024. Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is rolling out now across the UK, Europe, and the USA. Dave the Diver was already made available with the general April 2024 service refresh, then the third day one title Animal Well launches on 9th May 2024.

Ember Lab will seemingly be spreading its wings for pastures new in the future as a new ESRB rating all but confirms an Xbox Series X|S version of Kena: Bridge of Spirits is in the works. First released for the PS5, PS4, and PC in September 2021, the Xbox port could bring up to three years of console exclusivity to an end. Ember Lab developed and put the indie game out itself, so no publishing ties with Sony have been cut despite how much the platform holder marketed it.

Update: It appears the PS Store jumped the gun somewhat, as it's now been confirmed Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will join EA Play on Thursday, 25th April 2024. Active members will be able to download and play the full game then.

Amazon has now officially announced a second season of its overwhelmingly successful Fallout TV adaptation shall be shot and released on its Amazon Prime streaming service. A second batch of episodes appeared likely after the series was handed $25 million of Californian tax credits, but now it's official.

Private Division has announced its Hobbit life simulator Tales of the Shire will release for PS5 later this year. Confirmed in an all-new reveal trailer viewable above, it matches stylised visuals with simulation mechanics like home decoration, friendship making, and exploration.

Capcom has shared a list of patch notes for a Dragon's Dogma 2 PS5 update that'll drop at some point later this month, and chief among them is news the game's dragonsplague mechanic will be reduced in frequency and made much more easily noticeable. The patch notes confirm the infection will be spread at a slower rate and your Pawns' eyes will glow a lot more, making the disease a lot easier to deal with.

Sony has today confirmed a new PlayStation overlay that will ship on its PC ports, with next month's Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut being the first to use it. You'll be able to access it from Windows PCs from either the in-game menu or by pressing «Shift + F1», which will pull up a new screen housing your PSN profile, friends list, and Trophies.

Everybody's Golf developer Clap Hanz will continue to broaden its horizons now it no longer has any formal partnership with Sony, as its next golf game will enter the virtual reality space, but it's only launching on Meta Quest headsets. The game, named Ultimate Swing Golf, releases next month on 16th May 2024 only on Meta Quest 2, 3, and the Pro variant.

Rockstar Games has announced it's joining EA in raising the price of its GTA+ subscription service, from £4.99 / $5.99 per month to £6.99 / $7.99. Representing a 40 per cent increase in the UK, new users will immediately be charged the new price while existing members will begin paying extra from 11th June 2024. Since GTA+ only offers users monthly memberships, there's no way to save a bit of money with a 12-month commitment to the service.

Building on an article published overnight, The Verge has another post that largely reiterates past reporting from Insider Gaming covering what Sony has planned for its PS5 Pro and the upgrades it will bring to current games. Reported first at the start of April but now confirmed through more sources, Sony is reportedly allowing developers to tag their titles as «PS5 Pro Enhanced» after applying one of a few different upgrades.

If the new Alone in the Dark PS5 reboot has given you a classic survival horror itch, then Sony's subscription service PS Plus Premium is looking to scratch it. Available from Tuesday, 16th April 2024, the old PS1 terror Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare will be available to members on the top tier, complete with all the bells and whistles that come with the re-releases Sony accepts on the service. It's joined by MediEvil and Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire on the same day.

Stellar Blade developer Shift Up quite clearly took a lot of inspiration from PS4 great NieR: Automata during the making of its soon-to-be-released PS5 exclusive, but in the case of Automata director Yoko Taro, he thinks that the student has already become the master. In an interview with IGN Japan (via Eurogamer), Taro says Stellar Blade «is a really amazing game. I'd say that it's much better than NieR: Automata.»

Today is the day for April 2024's PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium game refreshes to come into effect, with 14 PS5, PS4 and Classic titles landing across the two tiers. The games are available now in the UK and Europe, and availability in the USA will be rolled out later on in the day. Grand Theft Auto owner Take-Two has announced it's laying off around five per cent of its more than 11,500-employee-strong workforce in an effort to save $165 million annually. Around 600 full-time workers will be affected by the layoffs, and some unannounced games within the publisher are to be cancelled as a result. Take-Two declined to say what the projects are.

Sony has today updated the Last Chance to Play section of its PS Plus service, revealing far and away the biggest batch of PS5 and PS4 titles leaving at once. On 21st May 2024, a whopping 25 games will be taken off PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium, including some quality Final Fantasy entries and indie hits. The complete list is as follows:

Warhorse Studios has today announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a PS5 sequel to the 2018 original. Set to release later this year, you can check out the reveal trailer above. The studio says it is a «bigger, better, and more ambitious» title that the team has grown to more than 250 employees to create. The sequel is pitched as the «passion project» Warhorse Studios always wanted to make, and is now making a reality with the correct resources.

GSC Game World has published PS4 patches for the three games that make up the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy. Following its surprise release last month, the developer has now updated the three titles with fixes that should address a variety of save, crashing, and bug-related flaws. Atari has announced it's collaborating with Shantae and River City Girls developer WayForward to develop a new entry in the Yars' Revenge series, named Yars Rising. Slated to launch at the end of this year, the title was announced during today's Nintendo Indie World showcase, but will release also for PS5 and PS4. Check out the reveal trailer above.

Red Hook Studios has today confirmed Darkest Dungeon 2 will be releasing for PS5 and PS4 on 15th July 2024. Its DLC, The Binding Blade, is also being ported across to Sony systems, though you'll need to buy it on top of the base game. A discount is being offered to PS Plus members, and there'll also be an Oblivion Bundle containing all content available to pre-order. Check out the announcement trailer above.

Fallout 4 launches its native PS5 version on 25th April 2024, but if you want to make that upgrade as cheap as possible, you might want to take a look at the current PS Store spring sale. Both the base PS4 game and all of its DLC are on sale at the cheapest prices they've ever been, and the offers expire the day before the PS5 version releases. As such, paying now will ensure you get the most amount of content for the cheapest price.

Rebellion has today published a fresh PSVR2 trailer for Zombie Army VR, a spin-off from the main Zombie Army series that marks its first foray into virtual reality. It delivers a fully-fledged campaign that can be played alone or with a friend, and charts a path alongside the main games telling the story of a Deadhunter on the search for zombie war criminals.

The world is divided up into two types of people: those who have beaten Driver on PS1, and the rest who never got past its absurdly difficult tutorial. Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time F1 Championship winner, is one of the many who couldn't. In a new video uploaded to the Mercedes-AMG F1 YouTube channel, the professional racer is videod playing PS1 classics from his childhood.

Bethesda has today revealed the long-awaited PS5 version of Fallout 4 will launch on 25th April 2024, with current PS4 owners getting a free upgrade to the native edition. The update adds new Performance and Quality Modes, which introduce the options for 60fps and an improved resolution. There'll also be «stability improvements and fixes».

Microsoft has today released the third of four Xbox games currently announced for PS5, PS4 boxes: the online survival title Grounded. You can grab a digital copy now from the PS Store for £32.99 / $39.99, granting you access to the final Fully Yoked Edition, which Obsidian Entertainment says is the last content update the game will receive. Baldur's Gate 3 team Larian Studios has confirmed it has two new games in the works as it looks to moves on from the Baldur's Gate IP. Having put together one of the greatest RPGs in a generation last year, the Belgian developer won't be making any new narrative content for the third iteration or creating a Baldur's Gate 4. Instead, it's two brand new games, which CEO Swen Vincke is calling the studio's «best work ever».

Bethesda has managed to successfully spread Fallout fever off the back of Amazon Prime's well-received TV show, with sales of Fallout 4 increasing by a whopping 7,500 per cent in Europe. It was the continent's best-selling game last week, accounting for both physical and digital purchases. Other titles in the RPG series have also made the top 10, like Fallout 3, Fallout 76, and Fallout: New Vegas.

After Sony forced one-man developer Lilith Walther to rebrand their PC kart racer inspired by Bloodborne, the game has reappeared as Nightmare Kart. A new trailer can be viewed above, which confirms the title will release on PC platforms like Steam and Itch.io for free on 31st May 2024.

Sony likes to put on major State of Play livestreams and host its PlayStation Showcase during the month of May, and it appears the company is gearing up to do so once again in 2024. Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb reports he's heard «a bunch of times» from sources that Sony is planning an event for May, and it sounds more like another big PlayStation Showcase rather than a more subdued State of Play.

Ubisoft is the latest company to reveal its not-E3 livestream for the upcoming summer months, with its live and in-person event set to take place on 10th June 2024. That is three days after Summer Game Fest streams live from the YouTube Theatre, fronted by Geoff Keighley. Ubisoft teases it'll have «updates and upcoming releases» to show.

Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has shared what the studio has planned in terms of post-launch support for its soon-to-be-released PS5 exclusive. In a recent interview with bbs.ruliweb.com, it revealed the title will receive free updates that bundle in new costumes for protagonist Eve to wear alongside a New Game+ option. It's also stated «DLC has not been determined» separately to the free content drops, which could suggest there'll be a larger Stellar Blade expansion in the future also.

First there was an Xbox Store page, and now there is an age rating; might Hollow Knight: Silksong finally be about ready to release? Speculation concerning Team Cherry's PS5 and PS4 sequel is widespread right now, and a newly uncovered South Korean age rating has only fuelled online chatter. Interestingly, the age rating was actually registered in February, but the rating has only been brought to life now as fans dig deep for any fresh shred of information.

Square Enix has confirmed a glitch in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth blocking players from unlocking the Platinum Trophy will be addressed in the RPG's next update. Currently, a side quest called Can't Stop Won't Stop isn't registering high scores in the G-Bike arcade minigame, which is required to unlock the Platinum Trophy and progress other missions near to the end of the game. The publisher hasn't said when the PS5 patch will arrive, but presumably, it'll be available soon.

Older live service games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft make up more than 60 per cent of the gaming community's overall playtime, a new report from Newzoo reveals. Based on data collected throughout last year, it is said the amount of time people play games is trending down and those hours are spent playing a smaller range of titles. In 2023, games released within the past three years accounted for 23 per cent of playtime.

EA has announced its EA Play subscription service will be updated on Thursday with the addition of the high-quality golf game EA Sports PGA Tour. Current members will be available to download and kickstart their golfing career as the title is added to The Play List, which already features many other games published by EA. Dave the Diver team Mintrocket has today announced the PS5 and PS4 versions of its 2023 indie hit will release on 16th April 2024, and they'll be available straight away via PS Plus Extra also. Current members of Sony's subscription service will be able to download and play the game without charge, granting them access to the original experience and a bit of Godzilla-themed DLC in May.

Sony will brand games with a PS5 Pro «Enhanced» label if they go the extra mile to support its upgraded machine, a new Insider Gaming report claims. In keeping with promotional efforts seen for the PS4 Pro during the last generation, such a badge is said to feature if a studio applies just one of a few different enhancements to its pre-existing or future title.

CD Projekt RED has essentially committed to none of its future single player games featuring microtransactions as the Polish developer states it doesn't «see a place for microtransactions in the case of single player games». The studio's CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said as such in an investor's chat via StockWatch.pl, but the micro-purchases are something the team could explore for online experiences: «We do not rule out that we will use this solution in the future in the case of multiplayer projects.»

Dragon's Dogma 2 has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the less than two weeks it has spent on the market, Capcom today confirmed. Bundling in all the versions of the original game, this means the series has in total sold over 10 million units. The Japanese firm shared the news today in a press release where it committed to more «additions and changes» for the PS5 sequel.

Sony president Hiroki Totoki will today step into his new role as PlayStation CEO following Jim Ryan's retirement after a more than 30-year tenure at the company. While retaining his duties across the wider business, Totoki's main objective will be to aid the search for a true successor to Jim Ryan while defining «the next chapter of PlayStation's future».

The PS5 remake of Silent Hill 2 has taken one step closer to its reported 2024 release as the ESRB has handed the title a Mature age rating. Generally awarded near the completion of a game's development, the USA firm warns of blood and gore, language, sexual themes, and violence throughout the experience from Bloober Team. A trailer published by Sony at the start of 2024 pegged Silent Hill 2 with a 2024 release window, and this new update could signal that's still on the cards.

Helldivers 2 has taken a new patch on PS5 and PC that adds new weather effects to the popular shooter and triples the maximum level. Having downloaded update 01.000.200, you'll have the chance to encounter blizzards and sandstorms while out on missions. Also, you can now grind your way up to level 150 while getting used to some balance changes across various mission types, weapons, and enemies.

Sony has revealed that not only is Dave the Diver coming to PS Plus Extra on its release date of 16th April 2024, but so too is the upcoming Metroidvania title Tales of Kenzera: ZAU. Launching under the EA Originals banner, the promising indie platformer is coming out on 23rd April 2024 for PS5, and PS Plus Extra members gain access that very same day.

Rockstar has announced its GTA+ subscription service will be further bolstered later this year with the inclusion of L.A. Noire and Bully. The £4.99 / $5.99 per month membership is primarily for GTA Online players, handing them more cash and bonus items. However, with the PS4 version of the original Red Dead Redemption recently being put on the service, Rockstar is looking to expand its offerings even further.

The monthly PS Plus Essential update has arrived, granting all members of Sony's subscription service access to three new PS5, PS4 titles. Young Horses, the studio behind the PS5 launch title Bugsnax, has announced it's turning the indie hit into a card game. The developer requires $15,000 of funding on Kickstarter to make it a reality, with orders currently being accepted from the USA. The team plans to begin shipping the card game in October 2024 for those supporting the campaign, and then international orders will be accepted roughly one month later.

Rockstar Games could be forced to delay GTA 6 as far back as 2026 if production problems continue due to a mandate forcing remote workers to return to the developer's physical offices. A new Kotaku report says employees are struggling with the «unwanted return-to-office mandate», which could invite crunch. Having been hired as remote staff members, the swift change «caught many by surprise and has led to frustration from staff who feel like they are being pushed out».

Harold Halibut, the game made entirely out of real-life models and figures, will launch for PS5 on 16th April 2024, it has been confirmed. A new trailer debuted during last night's Future Games Show, which you can catch up above. Sculpted characters and sets have been 3D scanned into the experience, which is set on a city-sized spaceship underneath an alien ocean. A PS4 version will launch at a later date.

Larian Studios appears ready to leave the Baldur's Gate franchise behind having released the landmark third instalment, with founder Swen Vicke saying the developer has no plans for any Baldur's Gate 3 DLC and won't be producing a fourth game. His comments were made during a GDC panel earlier today, where it was said the team plans to move away from Dungeons & Dragons entirely for something new, which has been in development at least as of January 2024.

Almost four long years after its original announcement, Red Thread Games has confirmed Dustborn will launch for PS5, PS4 on 20th August 2024. A new trailer debuted during today's Future Games Show announcing the release date, which you can catch above. The game will cost $29.99 on the PS Store, with a physical edition available at a higher price.

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture developer The Chinese Room has announced its next title Still Wakes the Deep will launch for PS5 on 18th June 2024. You can watch a new trailer above, which debuted during the Future Games Show earlier today. Set aboard an oil rig caught up in a storm, you must face «the unknowable horror that’s come aboard».

The Explore page on the PS5 home screen appears to be running a beta that adds new features like backgrounds, friend activities, your controller's battery life, and easy links to console storage. Mystic, a popular PlayStation YouTuber, posted a new video today detailing the additions, which appear to have only rolled out to select PS5 users. You can see what's new in the video above.

It appears the movie industry is coming for every gaming IP it can get its hands on at the moment because it has been confirmed EA's life simulator series The Sims will be turned into a film. Margot Robbie's production firm is attached, and the film will be produced and co-written by Kate Herron of Loki fame. EA serves in a «creative and producing capacity».

Helldivers 2 is the best-selling video game of 2024 so far in the USA. Full stop. Done. Accounting for both physical and digital purchases, Circana data places it at the top of the sales charts for both February 2024 and the year so far. The unexpected hit is said to have sold more than eight million copies, but that stat will have increased since. The PS5, PC title beat out competition from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to land top spot for the month, though the Square Enix sequel did release on the final day of February.

With more than 61 million copies sold, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best-selling titles of all time, but good luck getting it to run on your PS5 any better than the resolution and frame rate designed for its original PS4 edition. For years now, fans have been begging Rockstar to give the open worlder an update to make it run a bit better on Sony's current console — as it does on Xbox Series X — and as an unexpected patch actually does arrive 18 months after the last one, of course there's no sign of current-gen support.

Blizzard has confirmed it'll no longer be locking the playable Heroes of Overwatch 2 behind Battles Passes, with all past characters obtained this way and future ones unlocked for every player from the beginning of Season 10. The new Hero Venture will be available immediately for all players when Season 10 starts next month, with the only requirement being that newcomers must complete the first-time user experience.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been revealed as the official title of the superhero game Uncharted creator Amy Hennig is making at Skydance New Media. It's slated to release next year, and stars Captain America and Black Panther during World War II. A trailer was revealed during a GDC livestream, which you can catch above.

Konami seems to be very slowly pulling back the curtain on its PS5 remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as after Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter teased the title for his YouTube legacy series, the game's main menu has been put online. Not so noteworthy in itself, but now Hayter has come out to say he's played the full game, and also added «it was spectacular».

Pentiment developer Obsidian Entertainment has pushed out a new PS5, PS4 update for the historical title that fixes its comically blunt Platinum Trophy name. Formerly named just «PlatinumTrophy», unlocking the final reward will now grant you a gong called «Historia Tassiae». Patch 1.3 also tweaks the PS5, PS4 home screen icon from a close-up of Andreas' face to the black and orange key art.

Ubisoft Montpellier has today confirmed the slate of free and paid updates it has planned for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, having first teased them last month. The main addition takes the form of a paid story DLC arriving in the second half of 2024, but releasing between now and then are three updates adding new modes and challenges, all for free.

The first Rise of the Ronin review score has been posted online, with Japanese outlet Famitsu awarding the soon-to-be-released PS5 game a total of 37/40 across four reviewers. Individually, the scores break down as three 9/10 scores and a 10/10. Our full PS5 verdict will be posted on Thursday, as the review embargo lifts.

Sony's big PS Plus Extra update is scheduled to take place tomorrow, but as 13 PS5, PS4 and Classic titles arrive, seven will be going the other way. As communicated in the service's Last Chance to Play section on PS5, some games will be removed for members, and you'll need to buy them if you want to keep playing.
