American game development studio Illfonic is no stranger to asymmetrical multiplayer games based on popular properties. In the past few years, it has released games like Friday 13th: The Game and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, which take full advantage of the franchises they are based on to provide fun multiplayer experiences. Following the release of the latter, the developer started working on Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, another asymmetrical multiplayer game based on the comedic horror movie released back in 1988, which promises to be great fun.

Blizzard has announced that the Discoverer's Delight experience buff will be increased beginning after the weekly reset on May 7th. This buff will increase experience gains for all characters through level 39 by 150%, and by 100% for characters level 40-49!

Buckshot Roulette is an ugly, mean little game that pits players in a no-win scenario against a sinister, shotgun wielding dealer. The game is a solo effort from developer Mike Klubnika, and it blew up after its launch on itch.io, in part because it found popularity on short-form video platforms. In a world where big-budget, wonderfully crafted games can – and often do – fall off the radar without making a splash, it’s interesting to interrogate the unexpected success of a small game, especially one that’s designed to be so viscerally unpleasant.

If you’re into the charm of old-school pixel art and the thrill of survival, this top-down action roguelike should be your next pick. In a hotfix earlier this week, Blizzard announced that the Darkmoon Faire will not be coming to town during the Cataclysm Classic Pre-Patch. Instead, the event will make a return sometime after launch.

Some of the most viral games of the last several years on platforms like Twitch have been titles like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and Only Up! — games where it’s difficult to climb up something and the punishment for failure is massive. If you’ve found yourself playing or watching content about those kinds of games, then you’ll want to check out one of the first notable games to come out this May: Surmount.

As some of you may have already seen in your own raid groups, Paladins were able to capitalize on an unintended interaction between Seal of Righteousness, Seals of Command, and the Tiny Abomination in a Jar trinket after the Cataclysm Classic pre-patch launched. This allowed Paladins to deal unfathomable amounts of damage, to the point where the number calculations would often freeze or crash the game. While this isn't the only bug that the pre-patch launched with, the Seals of Command bug was quite literally game-breaking, both in terms of causing performance issues when triggered, as well as completely trivializing content (with some Paladins even going as far as being able to solo mobs in Icecrown Citadel).With the bug already fixed by Blizzard, we wanted to break down exactly how it functioned, and what the cause of it was.

Yesterday, independent game developer Fun Dog Studios (composed of industry veterans who worked on such games as Horizon: Zero Dawn, DOOM Eternal, Killzone, Hawken, The Witcher 3, and Mass Effect) shared the debut gameplay trailer for their first game, The Forever Winter.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite had more than a few problems when it launched back in 2017. It was fun enough to play, but it has a less than stellar story, it was updated with DRM years after launch, and it's missing popular characters such as the X-Men. However, the biggest problem that faces the title is how badly it's aging, as despite only being seven years old, it's art style and graphics leave an awful lot to be desired.

Guardian Tactics: Deck of the Chosen is an upcoming roguelike deck builder from the creators of Timelie, Urnique Studio. It functions a bit differently from what you might be used to from roguelikes. As of March 29th, Urnique Studio has released the demo for Guardian Tactics, and I got the chance to check it out. Helldivers 2's latest patch, 01.000.300, dropped yesterday. It introduced sweeping balancing changes to the game and announced in-universe that the previously placid Terminids had broken free of their humane enclosures. While these once-captive sources of E-710 (which Socialists will suggest is just «oil» spelt backwards) run rampant, the Helldivers community debates whether developer Arrowhead may have introduced a fun nerf.

You're either utterly obsessed with Funko Pops or you can't stand the sight of them, and there's no in-between. As such, newly announced PS5, PS4 game Funko Fusion is already facing an uphill battle with some console owners. Using what appears to be a similar structure and approach to the LEGO games, this is a title playable alone or in four-player online co-op, and it's out on 13th September 2024. Check it out in the above reveal trailer.

The Helldivers 2 community isn't entirely impressed with developer Arrowhead's latest patch, 01.000.300, which, according to some, significantly nerfed players' fun. In the patch notes, a fix for the seemingly busted way shrapnel ricochets was alleged, but the community has since proved the problem still exists, although it's actually the Eruptor that's to blame.

Update: Since publishing this article earlier in the week, Stellar Blade's user score rating has increased another point, up to 9.3 from the Metacritic community. That makes it one of the highest rated PS5 games of all time.

I didn’t have many expectations when it came to Madame Web, and it was not really a surprise when the movie didn’t meet any of them. The sorta-kinda-maybe?? Sony Spider-Verse tie-in got absolutely horrible reviews and earned a modest $100 million at the global box office. Now that it’s on Blu-ray, 4K SteelBook, and non-premium digital VOD, people might want to see it, if only out of morbid curiosity.

Sand Land, the new open-world action-adventure based on one of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s lesser-known works is out now, and its surprisingly complex for an anime adaptation. One of things you’re going to want to do early on to make your life easier is upgrade your home base of Spino Town. While it may not the very most important upgrade, the Furniture Shop is fun, as it allows you to decorate your very own Animal-Crossing-style room. You’ll have to complete a series of sidequests in order to get the Furniture Shop, but don’t worry, we’ll walk you through it…

Digital Sun’s previous outings, The Mageseeker and Moonlighter, were both fun games, but Moonlighter delighted me not only with its quality, but also its unusual genre combination. In this, Cataclismo is shaping up to be quite the worthy successor. While Moonlighter was half classic Legend of Zelda and half shopkeep simulator, Cataclismo is half tower defense and half base-building real-time strategy (with base-building inspired by LEGO). It’s also loads of fun, based on the hours I’ve already spent playing it. If the studio nails the landing with the full release, I’ll be spending far more time in its eerily charming world.

An activity marked by several firsts for World of Warcraft, there are things they may try again and others they may never do again, but the clear passion and excitement that went into developing Plunderstorm was visible for all to see.

Funko Inc. and developer 10:10 Games have announced that 20(!) franchises will be a part of their upcoming Funko Pop-based co-op action game Funko Fusion. It's not often that one gets to climb into a gigantic tank in , but one talented player managed to do just that by creating a powerful vehicle that serves as a homage to another classic video game series. Thanks to the incredible building mechanics available in the latest game, the community has spent thousands of collective hours pushing the system to its limits in an effort to create as many wonderful contraptions as possible. This build is one such instance of hours of effort paying off with a functional death machine.

Palworld has been on one a hell of a run since launching earlier this year, breaking records and generating plenty of conversation, and developer Pocket Pair has been busy teasing new content. The most recent of these teases came during today’s ID@Xbox indie showcase, which gave us a peek at what we can expect from the game’s big summer update. Today is the final day of Plunderstorm, with roughly 14 hours left to finish farming renown before the limited-time event leaves our shores! Luckily, even if you haven't reached Renown 40 and unlocked the full list of rewards yet, all renown is still doubled throughout the final hours of the Plundersurge, until the event ends with tomorrow's weekly reset. Note that because Plunderstorm is separate from the regular game servers, it is likely to shut down tomorrow for other regions as well, rather than with their own weekly resets. Although the event is leaving for fairer seas, it isn't necessarily gone for good. In an interview with IGN, Warcraft General Manager John Hight discussed the possibilities of bringing the event back or evolving the technology into future events.

is a new cartoon brawler from Lightfox Games, tossing players into hazard-filled arenas to partake in everything from classic deathmatches to cupcake-chomping competitions. Published by Mad Mushroom, a label owned by content creator group OTK, the game is focused on the kind of wide appeal and simple fun that could make the experience appealing to streamers and their audiences. Players looking to race through new content might have a bit of a headstart with new Enchantments coming in The War Within — both for Mount Speed and Character Speed! Some particularly interesting Enchantments caught our eye while datamining in The War Within: While most of these Enchantments add the Speed tertiary stat to player character speed, one Enchantment seems to offer an increase in Mounted speed — Cavalry's March. Players have loved effects such as Crusader Aura which increase Mounted speed, and having even a small boost on your Boots would be a welcome gift for players that don't necessarily worry about mix-maxing for raiding or other content.

Knuckles, Paramount Plus’ spinoff series of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, could have been a shameless IP cash-in. And the premiere isn’t far off! Following the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, we find Sonic and Miles “Tails” Prower living an idyllic life in Montana, and helping their new red echidna friend get the hang of Earth life. Without the budget for a big action spectacle, it’s mostly a kid sitcom with the Sonic gang — until it very much is not. In the subsequent five episodes, Knuckles (voiced again by Idris Elba) pairs up with dimwitted Green Hills sheriff Wade Whipple (Adam Pally) on a road trip to Nevada, where they both hope to find meaning in the world. The result is basically Tommy Boy for Sega buffs. It’s bananas.

The War Within brings changes throughout Azeroth, and Professions are no different! With the traditional new expansion Profession update, Gathering and Crafting Professions are seeing new recipes, new Knowledge Point trees, and fun new interactions for players to explore within the crafting systems. One such interaction comes from Cursed Enchantments — the first Enchantments to ever have a Kiss-Curse mechanic in World of Warcraft. Kiss-Curse mechanics are commonly referred to when players experience a large potential downside to a beneficial upside on an item or effect. While previous items in Dragonflight had minor Kiss-Curse mechanics, such as Toxic Thorn Footwraps reducing Stamina by 61, the positives far outweighed the negatives, leading to very powerful, sometimes BiS items. These new Cursed Enchantments, however, will require a bit more thought and caution — while you'll gain a significant amount of a secondary stat of your choice depending on the Enchantment, you'll also lose a large amount of another secondary stat.
