Although it is unlikely that we'll see universal combat enhancements like increased strength, critical strike chance, or damage procs, there are a number of other minor supplementary effects or effects that only work in specific areas of the game, like an excavators satchel increasing capabilities in Delves.

But there are some events included in that raise questions about how they might affect the events of other games.

We've datamined a handful of new Earthen tools and ornate jeweled weapon models in this week's update for The War Within Alpha! While the tools appear to be fairly basic farm and mining implements, the weapons are similar in style to many of the Earthen weapon and armor models found in last week's build.

The Hallowfall questline is available for testing on the alpha this week. At this stage, cutscenes are described rather than shown — and the description of a scene at the end of the zone's storyline is particularly interesting… and concerning.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is 25 years old and back in theaters for Star Wars Day (“May the 4th be with you”), inevitably setting off a new round of debate about the movie, the prequel trilogy as a whole, and the current, sometimes frustrating, state of Star Wars media. Though The Phantom Menace has been heavily criticized, it’s also been re-examined and even embraced over the past few decades. In The War Within, Engineers will be able to craft Potion Bombs, powerful external potion buffs that augment small groups of players within range. These Potion Bombs currently come in three different types: DPS, Movement Speed, and Healing. Using a Potion Bomb is simple — use it as you would any other consumable, choose your target area, and buff your allies while damaging enemies caught in the radius. While Engineers are the only ones able to produce these new support consumables, anyone — even non-Engineers — can use them to help their group. Star Wars is an absolutely massive franchise, spanning hundreds of projects ranging from movies and video games to comics and short novels. It seems like every time a new Fortnite crossover is announced these days, you'll find a gaggle of angry fans complaining about its pricing not too far behind. Last month, it was the price of Fortnite's avatar collaboration skins that got fans fired up, and now they've taken aim at the game's upcoming collaboration with Star Wars, once again due to the pricing.

Blizzard has posted additional developer commentary explaining some of the new Warrior changes in this week's Alpha build for The War Within, from redefining Arms AoE rotation, to punching up Fury's Bloodthirst, and major buffs for Bladestorm! There are a few Warrior updates in today’s Alpha build. After giving Arms and Fury access to both Bladestorm and Ravager, it was clear that Ravager had strong advantages in all situations. We’d like Bladestorm to be a strong pick for burst AOE, so we’re buffing its damage significantly, and reducing Ravager’s damage slightly. This should help make the choice between these abilities more meaningful and let each ability shine in different situations. Arms We’ve heard the feedback that the Arms AOE rotation lacks definition, so we’re making adjustments to Cleave to make it the centerpiece of Arms’ AOE rotation in The War Within.

Great news for Transmog collectors! Blizzard has announced that Legacy Tier Set transmogs will be Warbound in The War Within. This change is big new for transmog collectors! Previously, Blizzard announced that all transmog can be learned, even if you weren't the same armor type — except for Tier Sets.
