Hello! Welcome to the 326th edition of the WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-up! This week we take a look at Inscription in The War Within Alpha. We also have Cataclysm Classic and tools for levelling professions and things to focus on when you have limited time. On top of that, we have a discussion over transmog vs. twink items and making the most of Alchemy profits in Season of Discovery! We've decrypted a couple models for a new pet in Dragonflight Patch 10.2.7, which appears to evolve from larval form into a full fledged caterpillar! Although not yet discovered in game, the models were decrypted alongside the Patch 10.2.7 update, implying they'll be featured sometime soon.

We've datamined a new zone loading screen for the City of Threads dungeon located in Azj-Kahet in the War Within.

Cataclysm shakes up players' ability to bring their allies back to life. More classes can battle ress, and hybrid classes can resurrect their whole group or raid with a single spell cast.

The Arathi settlement in Hallowfall is only fifteen years old. They originally came from a new place we haven't seen before, will we visit this zone in the future?

The Troll Heritage Armor questline brought many new faces into the fold for lore on the Darkspear tribe, but it brought back just as many old friends. Everyone's favorite Trashmaster made an appearance, and we got some new insight into him — Jani is back! The Loa of Scavengers plays a pivotal role in helping the Darkspear recover their lost Loa. Leading us to Kevo ya Siti and providing us with only the most convenient of trash piles, without Jani, it's entirely possible that the long lost Loa would've remained that way — and the Darkspear would run the risk of falling under the influence of Mueh'zala. What players may have missed, though, is the lore we received about Jani over the course of the quests. While we know Jani is the Loa of Scavengers, Thieves, and Lost Things, Witch Doctor Tzadah had this to say about him.

The most recent Developer Livestream brought discussion on changes to monster health and difficulty. Going forward, World Bosses in World Tiers 3 and 4 won't be as easy as seasons prior. It seems that the days of World Bosses being deleted in a handful of seconds will be over with the arrival of Season 4 (looking at you, Hurricane Druids). Update: Blizzard has commented on this change and has stated it is a bug — a fix is in the works! A recent undocumented change has adjusted the level requirements to use the portals to Valdrakken in capital cities — characters must now be level 70 for a quick trip to the Dragon Isles. Players looking to bring a leveling character or alt back to Valdrakken will find that they have to take a much longer trip, either via the Defiant Dragonscale zeppelin from Orgrimmar or the Rugged Dragonscale ship from Stormwind. While we're unsure exactly when this change took effect, it was recent — not long ago, characters above level 60 were able to come and go freely via the portals as needed.

Alongside the more obvious changes coming to Diablo 4 in Season 4, Blizzard has also quietly implemented several other changes that will drastically improve player quality of life. Azj-Kahet is the last leveling zone in The War Within, and we've progressed through the main storyline to bring you all the details!

The Troll Heritage Armor questline is now available on live servers in Patch 10.2.7. We've played through to get the low down on what is going on with the Darkspear trolls and earn the Heritage of the Darkspear transmog sets along with a few other goodies.

Ever since he felt abandoned by Velen, Chieftain Hatuun has borne a grudge against the Draenei who was once his friend. Now, finally, and in part thanks to the Draenei Heritage questline, it seems the two are ready to reconcile.

In our datamining of The War Within Alpha, we've discovered that our Faithful Dog has made their way to Khaz Algar, becoming a full-fledged companion, so that players will never again have to leave their pet behind!

In a new hotfix today, Blizzard has made another set of changes to BFA raids, this time around making tweaks to Mythic N'zoth and Mythic G'huun, making both fights soloable. Other QoL Changes to Solo BFA Raids

With Patch 10.2.7, Blizzard did some tweaking to Battle for Azeroth raids, making most encounters easier to solo on Mythic. The two big obstacles right now are Mythic N'zoth and Mythic G'huun.

Blizzard has released a Hotfix for Cataclysm Classic that corrects Blood Queen Lana’thel's Vampiric Bite, fixes various quests, and provides some Class updates.

Blizzard has corrected the Paladin's Seal of Righteousness on Classic Era and Hardcore realms, removing the chance for this Seal to Critically Strike.

Blizzard has published their hotfixes for May 10th, which include the removal from Inferno scaling beyond 5 targets, Taivan will once again awoos when summoned, and double Blue Silken Lining will once again work.

As part of the Riders of the Apocalypse Hero Talents, Death Knights can summon The Four Horsemen to aid them and these elite heralds of death have received new Mawsworn Chargers that they'll ride into combat. The War Within Hero Talents Overview

Blizzard has confirmed that Heirlooms will remain capped at level 80 in Cataclysm Classic until after the first raid is released. Once the first raid opens, Heirlooms will be adjusted to scale up to level 85.

Blizzard has announced that Diablo 2: Resurrected's Season 7 begins on May 23! Players will be able to jump in on a new ladder season to gear up and challenge the wrath of the Hells.

The latest Developer Livestream brought us many changes coming to Diablo 4's Season 4. One change that is sure to delight players familiar with the endgame grind is the increase in Glyph Experience gains across the board. With Azj-Kahet available for testing, we have our first look at the new Nerub'ar Palace raid entrance. The palace is located at the southeast corner of the Azj-Kahet zone, at the heart of the Nerubian kingdom.

Blizzard has released a Hotfix that fixes an issue where players were unable to claim last week's Gauntlet Trial rewards.

Blizzard is hiring for an unannounced game! Although lacking identifying details, not even clarifying whether it is a brand new or existing IP, there are notices for several high level positions, including creative director, narrative director, and principal animator. Of course, this doesn't mean the game is guaranteed to become a reality. Project Titan was famously cancelled after more than 7 years of development, though Overwatch was born from its ashes just two years later.

At 1pm PDT today, you can Brawl with the Blues in Tol Barad in the Cataclysm Classic Beta! Players looking to take part in the event can create template characters to prepare for battle.

With Season 4 on the horizon, Tejal's Shop is preparing for a new shipment of outfits just in time to slay demons and fashion critics alike! At the time of writing, we've only received a teaser for the new Barbarian bundle, Demon's Heart, containing both the Demonheart Armor Set and Weapon Cosmetics, but Blizzard promises a plethora of new products will be available for purchase on a rotation.

Blizzard has published their This Week in WoW blogpost, highlighting everything that happened this week, including the announcement of the Welcome Back Weekend, launch of Patch 10.2.7 Dark Heart, and the Whisper of Warning short story.

Blizzard is once again tuning their PvP damage reduction auras, and will be testing a 30% healing reduction in Season of Discovery this weekend. While it seems Blizzard is happy with the data from the previous test, a bit more adjustment is needed, so test it out over the next few days!

The winds of Pandaria have started to blow in Dragonflight. With the launch of Patch 10.2.7, something changed with Siege of Orgrimmar and made it have a daily lockout instead of weekly.

We've completed the Hallowfall questline previously available on Alpha to bring you all the details of this stunning zone.

Cataclysm Classic introduces the Transmogrification system, which allows players to change the appearance of their equipped gear to any other piece that they would normally be able to equip, albeit with a few restrictions. Players have also been given access to the updated Wardrobe collection system that was later added, which allows them to «learn» the appearance of any piece of gear that they equip and would be able to transmogrify.

Have you ever found yourself looking for a break in the middle of the Nerubian Kingdom? If so, in The War Within, you can take the High Hollows Carriage to tour the High Hollows area of Nerub'ar without any guards bugging you. The carriage, which accommodates up to two players, roams around in a loop in the southern area of Nerub'ar. While riding it, all Nerubian NPCs become neutral to you, so they won't disturb you in your stroll.

The Earthen Allied Race mount has been discovered in The War Within Alpha datamining — take a look at the Slatestone Ramolith, a mossy stone ram!

Monks appear to have a new glyph option coming in The War Within, the Glyph of Jab causing Tiger Palm to attack with their equipped weapon instead of an unarmed strike! When Monks were originally introduced in Mists of Pandaria, Jab was their basic chi generator, while Tiger Palm instead consumed it. Standing out as the only ability to actually use a non-fist weapon, the Fighting Style passive ability caused Jab to be replaced with a functionally identical yet visually distinct version based on their equipped weapon — Club (mace), Slice (sword), Sever (axe), Pike (polearm), and Clobber (staff) — unsheathing for a quick strike before returning to the Monk's unique unarmed combat stance. This video from 2012 showcases a few of the differing animations, which was quite novel at the time. When the Legion expansion update removed Jab in favor of Tiger Palm, Monks lost this flavor, with only the unarmed strike animation available to it, though various other weapon animation abilities have appeared throughout the years since. In The War Within, Glyph of Jab restores those long lost visuals in an even better way; allowing Monks the option of deciding whether to use unarmed strikes or swing their weapon.

With today's Alpha build, Blizzard has added new rewards to the Zekvir Challenge Delve. These rewards include a new title, a void full transformation for your Airship customizable mount, and a toy. This delve is only unlocked after you complete every other delve in the highest difficulty and serves as a sort of challenge delve for those looking for that type of content.

In any new expansion, players rush into new zones, looking for new secrets, new quests, and new enemies to defeat. Learning to get around these new zones is always important for efficient exploration — and in The War Within, players are rewarded for being thorough with an increase in Flight Path travel speed! Players who complete the Khaz Algar Flight Master achievement will be able to increase the speed of Flight Paths in Khaz Algar for their entire Warband.

Locus-Walker is the Ethereal who first taught Alleria how to use the Void without falling victim to its corruption. Now, he teaches the other Void Elves in Telogrus Rift, and players can listen in on one of his lessons!

The latest official video from Blizzard revealed some of the upcoming changes to the costs of Masterworking. Blizzard has previously mentioned that they have increased the crafting costs now that Masterworking can no longer fail. Masterworking Can No Longer Fail Masterworking Guide These are the costs for various Masterworking ranks in comparison between the PTR and the upcoming Live version of Patch 1.4.0. The numbers below have been found in the latest official Diablo 4 video and may not be final. They are the result of Blizzard changing Masterworking to no longer be able to fail and instead increasing the crafting material and Gold costs.

Blizzard has been tuned in to player feedback, and they've stated that they're committed to improving Diablo 4's endgame. Player feedback from those who tested the new Pit of Artificers coming in Season 4 was largely positive, but players noticed that the activity wasn't dropping nearly enough crafting materials for the new Masterworking crafting system. On the PTR, The Pit dropped the same amount of crafting materials whether solo or in a group, but the player opening the dungeon received a slightly larger share of the spoils. Blizzard's intent behind this system was to ensure that solo players wouldn't feel obligated to join groups, and that seems reasonable at first glance. However, not increasing the total crafting material yield when completing The Pit while grouped actually pushed players in the opposite direction — players were discouraged from running The Pit in groups unless they could complete the dungeon three times faster than they could have completed it solo. Thankfully, Blizzard appears to have listened to player feedback on this, and according to the recently released patch notes, the newly updated system is going to be much more straightforward: players opening The Pit now receive 100% of the crafting materials that they would have received solo while group members receive 50%. Starting today, Blizzard is giving full access to the World of Warcraft Classic progression realms to all players without a subscription or Game Time! This offer will be available through the weekend, ending on May 13, 2024, at 10:00 am PDT.

The Draenei heritage armor questline is now available on live servers in Patch 10.2.7, so we've played through to find out what happens and earn the Endurance of Temple Telhamat and Embrace of Lost Embaari transmog sets.

Blizzard has released hotfixes for both Cataclysm Classic and Season of Discovery, targeting Darkmoon Deck turn-ins in Cataclysm and an Efflorescence bug in SoD.

Blizzard has published today's hotfixes for Dragonflight, including fixes for issues with Dungeons not rewarding the proper number of Flightstones and Crests, issues with players earning Season 4 achievements to trade crests up, and changes to the Blooming Dreamseeds quest, which now only takes 3 Dreamseeds instead of 5.

Citizens of Dalaran, raise your eyes and observe as Archmage Drenden returns to Dalaran to rejoin its ruling Council of Six! Appearing at the start of The Harbinger questline of Patch 10.2.7, players not familiar with the books may wonder who this mysterious mage is, and just why they've been so readily welcomed into Dalaran's leading council.

Once the bane of the low-level questers in Elwynn Forest, players will finally see Hogger captured and thrown into the Stockades in one of the many dungeon changes that occur as a part of Cataclysm Classic. Dungeon Changes in Cataclysm Classic With a range of changes that span from small updates to full revamps, the expansion brings Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep into the early end-game, with both dungeons receiving Heroic modes for players to complete at Level 85. We've put together a list of all the dungeon changes that you can expect to see in the old-world dungeons, as well as a compiled list of the new level recommendations for all of the dungeons through Lower and Upper Blackrock Spire!

Blizzard has released Hotfixes to correct the Dwarven and Night Elf archaeology projects in Cataclysm Classic! In addition, they have confirmed that the Pterrordax Hatchling is available from Fossil Digsites once players reach Archaeology skill level 525.

Blizzard has released a post responding to reports of reduced target scaling of Destruction Warlock's Inferno talent which generates soul shards from Rain of Fire during AoE. While the reduced scaling of Inferno should be removed soon in Dragonflight Season 4, Blizzard is looking into a way to redesign Inferno in The War Within.

Blizzard has made one thing clear during their recent Developer Update Livestream — they're pulling out all the stops for Diablo 4, Season 4: Loot Reborn. Alongside a crisp, shiny new Itemization Update, players will be receiving a bunch of fresh, new toys to pay with in the form of brand new Unique Items.

With Patch 10.2.7, Blizzard did some tweaking to Battle for Azeroth raids, making most encounters easier to solo on Mythic. The two big obstacles right now are Mythic N'zoth and Mythic G'huun. Note that both N'zoth and G'huun can be killed solo on Mythic under extreme circumstances like Arcane Mage burst attacks, but that isn't feasible for 99% of players.

Players who experienced Diablo 4's first PTR were able to test the new endgame crafting system, Masterworking, which is set to arrive with the release of Season 4 on May 14th. In line with Blizzard's desire for feedback from having a PTR, players had tons of thoughts on this new permanent system, citing primarily the frustration involved with:

Faerin Lothar is an important character in the War Within. Presumably a distant relative of Anduin Lothar, she lost an eye and an arm at a young age, but she has replaced her arm with a special shield. We learn more about this interesting prosthetic in Hallowfall's main questline.

Archon, the company behind products like Warcraft Logs has just released an early access version of their latest Tooltip Addon for Season of Discovery! This addon will allow players to view character parses, All Star Points, and world rank in-game simply by hovering their cursor over a character or shift-clicking names in-game. With the release of Patch 10.2.7 Dark Heart, the final chapter of Dragonflight's storyline is available to play. We played through the questline to bring in all the details!

Completing the Draenei Heritage Questline, added in Patch 10.2.7, provides players with two different transmog sets and an exclusive Hearthstone cosmetic toy. This toy is only usable only by Draenei and Lightforged Draenei characters.

With the May 7th/8th weekly reset, players will now be able to obtain their 2nd full Spark of Awakening and craft another gear piece up to item level 525. Check out our crafted gear recommendations direct from our class guide writers.

Blizzard has released Hotfix notes for Cataclysm Classic, which include many quest fixes, spell corrections, and a recalibration of the PvP Resilience stat.

Patch 10.2.7 launched with a new LFG but unfortunately for many users, it's bugged! However, you can fix it by turning on the Mature Language Filter in the options. Logging into the Patch, you might notice that your LFG screen looks very bugged. Some players have discovered that by turning on the Mature Language Filter in the options and then Reloading UI, it may fix it.
