Although it is fun watching progress bars and being stuck in the menu screen for hours. When the narrator is explaining what needs to be done, it doesn't help to have idiots nearby playing with rocket launchers and helicopters drowning him out. Being accompanied by high level characters severely limits your stat progression. Overall therefore, a success. Just to recap for Toby's benefit, there are two groups of enemies - the freaks and the cell. There are a number of objectives relating to these. You need to destroy cell strongholds (octagonal red C signs on the map). There are 27 of these, grouped in threes. You need to capture all three in a group in a certain time to gain control. Then an agency helicopter pad is set up. You need to activate points which are guarded by the cell. These are round blue blobs on the map. When three of a group are activated, they point the way so you can ... Activate the beacons. These are typically down pits or in big buildings. There are lots of freaks who try to destroy the beacon once it's been delivered. Don't let them. In addition to these, there are freak breaches (yellow splats) which is where you need to kill a certain number of freaks to close it. Not sure if you can see these yet. Plus, of course, agility and hidden and Live and renegade orbs. The story doesn't make a huge amount of sense. At night you often see the cell fighting the freaks. Why then are they guarding the activation points which allow you to deploy beacons to kill the freaks once and for all? Or are the beacons there for a more nefarious purpose? Hopefully we can meet again sometime! Tim (tm) |
