That's it. I'm ditching the £18 Rule with a new one:
For every mile I cycle, I'm allowed to spend one pound. Here's the full detail: http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/blog/2012/...ile-challenge/ Obviously, this will help 1) curb spending, and 2) increase fitness. I have no idea how I'll fare. It also means I can buy whatever game I like for however much I like, but with an actual physical penalty. Genius, non? What do you think? deKay -- Lofi Gaming - http://lofi-gaming.org.uk Gaming Diary - http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/diary Blog - http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/blog My computer runs at 3.5MHz and I'm proud of that |

Are you a cycle-o-holic like jochta? In which case you'll rack up hundreds of pounds of spends each week. -- WCZ |

Add a weighting factor: Winter: x1 Spring: x.5 Summer: x.25 Autumn: x.5 |

I'd be making £25+ per week just 'walking' (changing the rule accordingly) and you cover a lot more distance on a bike. If you already cycle, and especially in any way regularly, I'd look at 20p/mile. If you commute on a bike, then maybe even lower. Of course, if you just want to justify spending money on games, then go for it ![]() |

I rarely manage 20 miles in a week, and I'm going to need to average 17.5 miles a week to spend what I did last year. Bear in mind also that I need to buy a Wii U this year. deKay -- Lofi Gaming - http://lofi-gaming.org.uk Gaming Diary - http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/diary Blog - http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/blog My computer runs at 3.5MHz and I'm proud of that |

Unless you love going out in the dark and cold (I don't), it'll mean your late spring, summer, and early autumn distances will need to be longer. Which is a good thing, as it's the best time to be out anyway. I'll probably do fewer miles this year on the bike, as I'm doing more in the gym. We'll see. Bike is free. Gym isn't. |
