You have to learn the rules as you go, and all the tropes and conventions of a JRPG go out the window. But there's a guy I can't even get close to killing, can't improve my weapons because I don't have some item or other, and keep having to play the same bit over and over and over without it getting easier and with an ever depleting number of healing items. And messages keep telling me to do things, so I do, and die. -- Sent from my iPhone |

Take it easy, move slowly and keep yer shield up. Don't fight anything you can't kill. Get a shield with 100% physical block. They're a common drop, IIRC. And yes, it gets harder the more you die in some ways, because you lose consumables in the fight. So try not to die, eh? Keep munching that grass. I'm feeling right nostalgic for Dark Souls now. Oh, and don't believe everything you read. -- PSN: HarpingOn |

So try not to die, eh? Keep munching that grass. Yeah, easier said than done when you're a one-hit-kill and your shield seems to make no difference. -- Sent from my iPhone |

Died in the same way. Then learn to parry or learn to run like a girl (a legitimate and useful tactic in this game). Go past the guy with the blue eyes and down the stairs. If you get clear enough of him, he'll de-aggro and go back to standing in front of the fogged doorway. |
