So my save file has reached save of death proportions on Skyrim. Constant hard lockups, requiring an unsafe hard power off. Which makes the PS3 do a corruption check, potentially taking 3 hours each time. So much screen lag, you can hardly move. Please, don't buy Skyrim for PS3. I thought the other Beth games were bad, but this is just horribly broken, and I fear for the rest of the contents of my console if I keep having to hard poweroff like this all the time. -- PSN: HarpingOn |

I had read somewhere (here, I think) that you had to use the wait command and sit around for 30 days of in-game time. That would cause all the default enemies to respawn and all the corpses and clutter to clean themselves up. That's supposed to make the save file manageable again. I'm actually ready to start a new character, on the reasoning that my paladin-like Nord just isn't nasty enough for all the Daedric quests and the thieves guild missions. -KKC, who passed on the PS3 version of Oblivion for related reasons. -- -- "Step 8: Make a list of all the persons I | kendrick have harmed, and file them alphabetically | @io-nyc.com for ease of reference." | - David Javerbaum, "The Last Testament" | |

Because the cell cleanup only happens when you visit a cell. So whilst after 30 days, the cell will be eligible for cleanup, it doesn't happen until you actually visit it. Which is every indoor area you've ever been to. Not very practical. Plus, it doesn't clean out everything anyway. The game is just broken. It's not immersive /at all/ to have dead bodies just hanging around forever. If I kill a shopper in front of a meat trader in Riften market, I don't expect that body to still be there even one day later. Likewise, if you knock stuff off tables in shops or houses, the owners would tidy up. Not just leave the place looking like the wreck of the hesperus. Critters I killed around and about the start of the game, many game months ago, are still there. Stupid. -- PSN: HarpingOn |

I wasn't sure which way my char was going to go, but now that she's killed someone for a Daedric staff it'll be the nasty route. I don't actually use the staff as I'm a mace wielding warrior but the quest had 2 options so I chose the murder one... ![]() And I'll be siding with the Stormcloaks when I eventually get round to it...currently tracking down Windcaller's horn -- Words with Friends/Chess with Friends/Naked War username: HaggisHunter Using an Intel i7 PC with a Zotac GTX580 gfx card, ASUS Xonar D2X soundcard, 30" Samsung monitor, 6GB of memory and Windows 7 64-bit |
