Apologies for yet another IOS recommendation (that those who frequent rllmuk
probably already know about, anyway), but King Cashing is currently free and, it seems, the best thing ever. It was written by someone who was inspired by their best-selling Slots/RPG genre combination in Game Dev Story, and they set out to write just such a thing in real life. The battle system is based on a 3-reel slot machine, with (predominantly) members of your party on the left reel, weapons on the middle reel, and enemies on the right reel. You can level up weapons (or find/buy new ones) and members of your party as you progress, and also equip special items that (for example) increase the likelihood of archers coming up on the left reel, XP bonuses, coin bonuses, etc. Different enemies have different strengths and weaknesses, so you need to play around with the balance of the weapons and party members depending on what you are facing. Really, though, it's quite hard to do it justice just by describing it. It's a bit mad, hideously addictive and utterly brilliant and it has dominated every free minute of my day today. -- Chris GT: SomethingWitty |

Partly because I think I'll get utterly gubbed otherwise, and partly because I don't want it to end just yet. ![]() I've gold medalled all of the earlier battles and quite a few of the later ones as well, have tons of cash stacked up, but all the best diamond-level weapons only come up from chests, so I definitely need to replay the later battles a bit to get the best gear for the final boss. Superb fun, it is! -- Chris GT: SomethingWitty |

Superb fun, it is! The one thing I don't get, is how to get the unique weapons from some of the bosses? Do they come in chests? Do I have to gold medal them? Do I have to use a particlular weapon? Do I have to crit them with that weapon? Do I have to get the final hit with that weapon? I've got a couple of superior gold weapons from the chests for the mid range bosses, are they the unique weapons? T. |

I've got a > couple of superior gold weapons from the chests for the mid range > bosses, are they the unique weapons? > Oh, and I have a few more bosses to go before I get to the end, I originally started by replaying each of the fights to get golds from the start, but gave that up about halfway through. Now i'm going back to get golds on all levels as i've levelled up a lot. I wonder if it lets you start again when you finish, but with your current characters? There is an achievement to finish the game in under 60 days, which I don't see as being possible if you start from scratch each time. T. |

I've > got a couple of superior gold weapons from the chests for the mid > range bosses, are they the unique weapons? I think there's an element of randomness in the chest contents. I haven't noticed a pattern, anyway. Chests from high level bosses seem to consistently contain gold or diamond weapons (or the top-end XP/Cash bonuses), but I haven't noticed anything that makes them more likely to be the 'special' superior variants - it just happens sometimes. Maybe there is some reason/pattern to it, but it's eluded me so far... -- Chris GT: SomethingWitty |

I'm sure it mentioned something about unique weapons and beating them with their strength, or something ![]() Is the special superior weapon the unique weapon? T. |

I'm really not sure! I'll see if the achievement pops when I've got the superior diamond version of each weapon and let you know! In other news, I beat the final boss in my lunch hour, and can confirm that a) you get to carry on in the world and replay any battles you wish, continuing to level up and b) although it mentioned something about being able to start a new game with your levelled up party, starting a new game seems to just default back to your basic level 1 starting setup, so either it lied or I'm missing something. -- Chris GT: SomethingWitty |
