Who loves pinball? I do.
I've spent hours and hours on VPinMAME playing all my favourite old tables, and wishing that a shinier, nicer, better-physics-ier version were available. Not the complete solution by any means (as I notice no Data-East logo, which cuts out at least 50% of my all time favourite tables), but something lovely is coming early next year: http://www.pinballarcade.com/ It seems to be coming out on every imaginable platform as well, which is nice. I can see myself grabbing the XBLA and iOS versions in a flash. And, what's more, two of the initial line-up of tables are amongst my top 10 tables ever - 'Tales of the Arabian Nights' and 'Theatre of Magic'. If 'Fish Tales' and 'The Addams Family' come up in the promised regular DLC, I may just fall in a heap and die of happiness. ![]() -- Chris GT: SomethingWitty |

Also, Terminator 2, which had absolutely amazing sound. -- R: Tape loading error, 0:1 |

At this stage, I would say 'doubtful'. They've splashed the logos of Williams, Bally, Stern, etc all over the front page but, as I said above, no sign of a Data East logo. ![]() That also rules out Jurassic Park, Last Action Hero, Indiana Jones (I think), Lethal Weapon and a lot of the other absolutely essential early 90s tables. Maybe they will get them signed up in time, especially if the initial version sells bucketloads, but I've never seen any Data East tables licensed anywhere before - presumably where the tables were movie licences (which a lot of the DE tables were), it increases the complexity of licensing the tables for use in video games... -- Chris GT: SomethingWitty |

Should have checked before posting. Indiana Jones was a Williams table, so maybe there's some chance of that at least. -- Chris GT: SomethingWitty |

My only real experience of playing pinball was while working in a pub between school and university in 1993 or thereabouts. The ritual after work was a pint or two and a couple of games of pinball. Out if the tables I remember I'd love versions if Star Wars, Twilight Zone, Fish Tales (assuming this was the one with the fishing rod launcher) and the Addams Family complete with cool flipper clicking intro/attract mode. Bet they're all Data East aren't they? Carl. |
