Default Weekend Shopping

I'm expecting the majority of you have already done your xmas shopping &
those that haven't may be braving the shops this weekend (Good Luck)

I of course will be gaming

Splinter Cell Conviction - finishing off the last few maps on hunter mode
with Abbas.
I purchased the DLC a while back but can't see the new maps in the game? Has
anyone else purchased the dlc?

Gatling Gears - After completing Assault Heroes with Monster the next co-op
XBLA game is Gatling Gears which looks like more of the same but with Mechs

Rage - I have not played this for over a week now so must get back into it
to finish it off before xmas (highly unlikely)

iOS gaming - Angry Birds xmas, Sword & Poker 2, Disc Drivin (2 matches left
in our group) & Carcassonne (Hoping the new dlc is released this weekend)

Skyrim (PC)

If playing anything else it'll probably be Batman Arkham City (PC).

I might return to Rage (PC) too

I might do a little. More whoring in Saints Row, more MK7, maybe some Halo.

I'll be playing

Battlefield 3 (360) - I still have "bad" games, where I die more than I
kill kill kill! (needs saying 3 times I find), but overall I'm happier
with my progress in this game than in BC2. I mean, in Bad Company 2 I'd
frequently have dire complete sessions -for a number of hours I'd play
and be mowed down like a newbie.
In BF3 though, bad performance by me in one or two rounds seems to be
followed by a 20Kill/7Death round, which can be quite satisfying.
I think possibly good teamplay is more crucial in this game -not
necessarily all moving and acting together, but team members knowing the
land and how to move and behave in it -how to look one way if a
team-mate is looking another, constantly on the move, etc.
I still tend to duck and hide when capturing a flag while most others of
my rank seem to have no difficulty sneaking around a base while the flag
is going up. I'm much too cowardly (I prefer "flag-minded") for that.
Good game the other night with Trooper and Toad. Pity it was a bit laggy
at my end and I was finally kicked. Hopefully more of that soon!
....and if there are any newbies (or otherwise) I'm more than happy to
find you on there too -and feel free to run around on your own. I do it
a lot. Probably more than I should.
It can be a little overwhelming to get to know the game, but well worth
the effort I assure you.

Some Android games probably. The 10c titles are ongoing. Day 3's
offerings weren't bad. Well I found 3 I half-wanted. Reckless Getaway
(very good for a touch-screen arcade game), the tin-can one (seems
'alright' -nicely presented) and the Physics one (great concept,
pathetic implementation -try to draw a circle correctly in less than 5
attempts!)
I can't see many Android apps being sold outside the 10c range while
this is ongoing, since everyone will be waiting to see if whatever they
might want is going to be included at some stage.

Apart from games, I was pleasantly surprised by the Folder Editor app I
discovered yesterday. Now, within each screen I can have folders,
keeping everything nice & neat.

Probably the most-played Android app for me this weekend will be

Hanging With Friends (Android)
There was a big update this morning, so anyone curious to see the
changes should get on there and setup a game with gunthergloop. Always
up for it!

Words with Friends (Android)
Less of this, probably. As with most non-Scrabble variants I don't think
the distribution of letters is as good as should be. Often I find I have
a rack that looks like TVTTVCO.
Also I detest when it's reduced to tactically placing 2-letter words to
get a 47 score. ...Not that I don't do that myself of course, but I do
hate those locked-down boards.

-Kevin.

Toad and I will most likley be on at some point on sunday, I would
imagine, or maybe saturday night. BF3 is hilarious when you have a
group on voice chat, it almost doesn't matter how well you do.
Obviously it helps that I am totally awesome, MVP baby!

I still think the airborne vehicles are crap and they should be got rid
of, but it doesn't seem as game breaking in BF3 than it was in BC2.

Other than that, I'll down at the grandparents on Saturday, so no gaming
then. Maybe some more WoW on Sunday.

I'll be playing:

Assassin's Creed Brothahood (360)
Dawg. Have a painting to find for the DLC, have some Lairs left, have some
Cristina missions to "attend" to, and then? No idea.

Sonic Cunting Generations, The Fuck (3DS)
It FINALLY arrived. It'll be shit.

Pullblox (3DS)
Awesome puzzle awesomeness, with more awesome. And an awesome level editor
and share-by-QR-code awesomeness. So, awesome then. AWESOME.

Freakyforms (3DS)
O'course.

Zen Pinball (3DS)
Also awesome.

Too many 3DS games around now. And I don't even have Mario or Mario Kart
yet. Or Tales of the Abyss. Or Tetris. Or Super Pokemon Blast.

Skyrim (360) - Destroyed the Dark Brotherhood earlier in the week. I've
been unwisely reading spoilers, and so I'm armed with knowledge about the
Companions faction that I'm not happy with. That's a bummer since the
master smithing trainer is a Companion and you have to be a member to get
training.

Guitar Hero (PS3) - Our traditional year-end celebration in the office is
full of music games. I imagine I'll be screaming my head off to whatever
the latest Iron Maiden download is in a few hours.

Xbox Live Experimentation (360) - Microsoft has clarified the new licence
agreement for American users, and it turns out that you can't opt out of
the arbitration requirement. If you want to retain your right to sue,
Microsoft has unsubtly suggeste that you cease to use the Xbox Live
service. I'm going to mess around with some older games to see if it's
still possible to apply patches from the Internet without actually having
the active Live sign-in.

A fighting game (PSX/SAT) - I have a PSOne in the office to valiate the
complicate, spaghetti wiring I've set up. The first Dynasty Warriors game
is now screaming in foreign tongues over the workplace intercom system.
I'm motivated to dig out the old Dead or Alive and Fighting Vipers disks
just to see if I remember any of the moves.

Apparently it's not as good as the 360 one.

I'll be doing the shopping thang - heading up to Manchester with an old
schoolfriend who's just moved nearby and showing her the sights so will
probably try and get a bit of christmas shopping done, too...

If I get to play any games, it's likely to be:

Mario Kart 7 (3DS) - As ever, I've blitzed through the 50cc and 100cc cups
and am now resigned to coming fourth in the 150cc cups FOREVER. Still, the
minor tweaks they've made to the formula don't seem to have ruined the game
(looking at you, Double Dash) and it's the best kart racing game EVAR. Again.

Dwarf Fortress (PC) - Started playing this again when the Skyrim 1.2 patch
hit last week and I decided that, as a mage, I didn't fancy playing it until
the magic resistances bug was fixed. I had some "fun" the other night when a
rabble of elves decided they were going to ambush my fortress, killed all my
grazing animals then hung around outside waiting for me to run out of food/
wood. And then killed everyone when I lowered the drawbridge. Fun!

Is that what happened? I was wondering why my elemental effect armour
pieces didn't work as well as they did before. Bugger.

-KKC, who should have brought in more PSX games.
