Done some experimenting.
You can move or copy saves to the cloud. Copying is exactly the same as copying a save to a USB stick. It's a copy, it does not sync with the local copy if you use the local save with a game. Or vice versa either. This could be confusing to a lot of people expecting the cloud copy to always be in sync with the local copy. It isn't. It's an entirely separate copy. Moving does what it says on the tin. The only copy is kept in the cloud although it copies it to a secret internal cache area for performance. It syncs it when you exit the game or when it is able. Restart the console with no network cable and the save game is not available. You have to be connected to XBL to use cloud storage. All in all a bit pointless. -- John Talbot XBL, PSN, Twitter, Everything : jochta Blog & Gaming Diary : http://www.buttonsofmymind.co.uk/ "Leading the fight..." |

You always only play from the local HD copy. Bringing the save back from the cloud is a manual process. I've used it before when I've accidentally overwritten a save. It's much more like a backup on PSN, rather than a Play Anywhere service like it appears XBL is trying to do. Suits me. Backups are good. Especially for 100, 150+ hour game saves. Of course again, it's chief advantage over USB on the PS3 is, it (PSN Cloud) works with those stupid backup-proof copy protected saves. |

Might as well stick em on there and save a few MB on the HDD. -- John Talbot XBL, PSN, Twitter, Everything : jochta Blog & Gaming Diary : http://www.buttonsofmymind.co.uk/ "Leading the fight..." |
