I know nothing about the Final Fantasy movie -just noticed there are two
(or more?) of them. Are they any good and, more importantly, are the any good for a 6 year old boy who seems to be certain Santa Claus is bringing one to him.? Slightly OT: I know, but only mildly. -Kevin. |

We've done Ghibli and a few others like Tenchi Muyo. I don't really want to get him started on heavy "collectathon" Animes -just a single standalone movie or two would be nice. -Kevin. |

Advent Children is a bit incoherent, especially if he's not played FFVII. The Spirits Within is an OK sci fi movie with some uncanny (but impressive for the year) CGI actors. -- -Toby Add the word afiduluminag to the subject to circumvent my email filters. |

The scientist played by Ming-Na is charged with finding the seven whatsits, and from my description you can guess the price of her efforts at the end of the picture. Thankfully, the movie jettisons the whole anime quest structure by picking up the hunt near the end, rather than portraying the rigorous process of finding each orb/fairy/shard/triforce piece. The picture ends on a sad, wordless scene, which I suspect happened because they ran out of money and rendering cycles. -KKC, who enjoyed Steve Buscemi's acting in the movie. -- -- "Step 8: Make a list of all the persons I | kendrick have harmed, and file them alphabetically | @io-nyc.com for ease of reference." | - David Javerbaum, "The Last Testament" | |

I was a big fan of the games and then the movie appeared and... it had pretty much nothing to do with the series. for ' the spirits within' the makers were obsessed with trying to look as much like real people as possible - very bland colour - unlike the games, no chocobos, no moogles, no laughs - it was as if they thought they were making a modern day 2001. most children would be bored silly I dare say. -- Gareth.
