With failing hard at making up a cool title for the PWG post out of the
way, my weekend plans are thus: Rayman Origins (PS3) - Because it's a good game and I really really need to do something other than play Skyrim. Skyrim (PC) - Working hard on the thieves guild stuff still, attempting to get it back in working order now I've completed the main questline. The house in Riften is quite nice and contains a couple of Mannequins for the display of all that cool armour you've been collecting. Shame you can't use the boat out the back. Putting my PC in a bigger case (PC) - Long story short: I'm an idiot. Having decided that overclocking my Q6600 is a good idea (it really is), I went ahead and researched cooling options, eventually plumping for the Corsair A70. I was a little worried it would be a bit too wide as I have a dinky case, and took great pains in making it wasn't. It isn't. The issue is that is'a good 2cm too tall and requires I either cut out a section of my case (I did consider this for a few seconds), send it back or buy a new case. As the case won't even take a 120mm fan, I decided on the latter option. I just need to find one that has 16cm clearance above the CPU. Oh, and we've reached due date (today) on baby number 2 so there's a very real chance I won't be doing any of that. |

I have killed by accident an archery trainer (from the first village, can't remember his name). He had all my training gold on his corpse, so not all bad. Although I'm an Altmer mage, I decide to do the theives guild quests first and generally hang around in Riften. The house looks nice and I'll probably buy that one. I want to get a horse. Don't know how easy the theifly bits will be as an Altmer. I used the shadow stone for daily invisibility. Don't know if that will help. I bought all the spells from the mage vendor dude in Whiterun. That helped a lot. My fire atronach is AWESOME. I like to summon her to kill wolves. I like walking everywhere in the first 50% or so of play time of games like this, so I can populate my map. Then in the back half of the game, when I've seen lots of the world, I've likely got a fast travel point close to where I need to go. GLWG (Android) Must do more of this, I've neglected it a bit. > Oh, and we've reached due date (today) on baby number 2 so there's a > very real chance I won't be doing any of that. Excitement! |

It's a turn based battle game, with differing unit types. Think Advance Wars, I suppose. Can manufacture new units, there are transport units, snipers, grunts, bazooka guys etc. It's very decent, I think. Playing it on the big tablet is nice. |

Don't know how easy the theifly bits will be as an Altmer. There's not much about race/career choice that really affects your ability to do any of the various guild/faction quests. The thieves guild quests are a good place to start as well, as the benefits of restoring the thieves guild are universally useful. > My fire atronach is AWESOME. I like to summon her to kill wolves. I found a staff the other night that summons a storm atronach. I'm not playing as a conjurer, so it's proving bloody useful. >> Oh, and we've reached due date (today) on baby number 2 so there's a >> very real chance I won't be doing any of that. > > Excitement! I now own every store and property in the game, with about $32k coming in every 15 minutes or so, which means by the time I get to the harder missions near the end I can comfortably afford all the weapon upgrades. My SMG now sets people on fire, which is nice. Still really needs a cover system though. Mario Kart 7 (3DS) Only done the first two 50cc GPs, so a bit slow and dull, but oh-so-lovely. Am going to do it all sequentially so might be a bit slow and dull for a bit, but even then it's nice, can't wait to get onto the good stuff. And maybe some online if anyone's up for some. Halo CEA (360) Only done the first level, should really play it some more. Vanquish (360) Maybe. Got it from LoveFilm, not played it, just really enjoying my current owned games too much to want to. -- Zo |

Zen Pinball (3DS) Because it is effing awesome. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (360) I've spent the last, ooh, 5 hours doing nothing related to the story at all. And it is fantastic. Now, having bought all the shops and faction buildings, most of the other buildings, all the aquaducts, all the tunnels, and done all the Borgia Towers, I think I might actually have to play the *game*. Or, I could go and do the wolf lair things. Or some assassination contracts. Hmm. > Oh, and we've reached due date (today) on baby number 2 so there's a > very real chance I won't be doing any of that. I did quite a bit with destruction early doors. The trap runes are as useful as they were in Oblivion. I can see though, that going forward, because Destruction doesn't scale, I'll spend much more time in Conjoration so I can summon help. So I'm gradually improving that school. |

> With failing hard at making up a cool title for the PWG post out of > the way, my weekend plans are thus: W.E.L.D.E.R. (iOS) My favourite iOS game of the moment. I'm pretty hopeless at it, and generally fail around level 6, but it's utterly absorbing. Impossible to play for 2 minutes - it always (often inconveniently) turns into hour-long sessions. BUY IT, FOOLS. Halo: CE Anniversary (360) Bought during the week, installed to HDD but not actually played yet. Switching between original and updated graphics on the title screen made me feel a little sad, and worried for the game itself. The Halo, as depicted on that title screen, has gone from being a grey, imposing, monolithic structure to a purple, neon, overly-intricate 'thing'. Do not like. If all else fails, I will just switch permanently back to the original visuals and play it in co-op with the boy (who I suspect will be wishing for the the shiny version). FIFA 12 (360) League games planned for Sunday. Will endeavour to continue my season of mid-table mediocrity/anonymity. Modern Warfare 3 (360) Online-multiplayer-a-go-go. Not played it for over a week, so am expecting my meagre skills to be even less effective than usual. Ticket to Ride (iOS) If I'm not W.E.L.D.ing, I shall turn to this for those parts of the weekend where the TV is occupied and I have nothing better to do. Demos (PS3) I stacked up a load of demo downloads on the PS3 last week, but haven't really had a chance to look at any of them yet. Can't remember what exactly I downloaded, but I think it includes at least one of the Uncharted games, a Sonic game and, um, some other stuff. Dexter (RL) Another thing that I haven't got round to doing recently is regularly watching the new season of Dexter. I've thus got half a dozen unwatched episodes, so will be treating myself to an all-night-serial-killer-extravaganza. From the couple of episodes I have seen, Mos Def is utterly excellent in this (as he is in most things, but especially so here). > Oh, and we've reached due date (today) on baby number 2 so there's a > very real chance I won't be doing any of that.
