Dekay's answered your question. I just want to jibe in and say it's a
great game with some lovely artwork.

It's exactly what I wanted in a Street Gangs remake

AC1 is good, but nowhere near as good as 2 or Brotherhood. You'll be
wanting to play it before them, for sure.

I hated the cel shaded Prince of Persia. It sits unfinished on my
shelf. I found it turned into a collectathon game where you had to
find X magic balls before it would unlock the next story section.

I loved Far Cry 2, but some bemoam the respaning enemies.
For me, it was just really exciting to be exploring and falling into
combat in the wild and dynamic representation of Africa.

I never realised that Africans respawn. Something new every day!

It's a decent game, just a bit fiddly and repetitive.

Personally I view the first two as beta releases. Assassin's Creed
Brotherhood I think is the first fully realised vision.

The first one is around v0.75. AC2 is more like 0.9, but it lacks the
fine-tunings of Brotherhood. By the end of both I had enough of them and
didn't feel like playing another one for some time.

I played Brotherhood and loved it all the way. Totally immersive
environment and gameplay. It does feel like "I'm back in 15th/16th
Century Rome here" at times. Well, up to a point obviously. Or not
necessarily close to the real thing, but it's certainly a believable
representation of the real thing surrounding a very enjoyable and
entertaining game.

I'd favour playing that first and dipping into the others as you see fit
thereafter. Then again you might find the 'looseness' of the first one
more enjoyable.

Up to you really -just noticed a slot and decided to stick my oar in.

Looking forward to Revelations. I'm being forced to wait til Christmas.

-Kevin.

I wasn't saying skip it. I'd personally be more inclined to do the
better one first though. After playing the first one you might not be up
to playing the second, which could put you off the third... which is
head & shoulders above the other two as far as I'm concerned.

It'd be a shame not to play Brotherhood. Of course the first is
perfectly good too. Well maybe not perfectly..

Long after the more immediate reactions/ views on anything are forgotten
there lingers just a general feeling/ phrase/ word. I don't quite know
what I mean by looseness, but it's the word that comes to mind when
describing the first one in comparison to what came after. I'd have to
replay the first one to figure it out myself.

Nah, do AC1 first.

I did, and then didn't fancy AC2 as I didn't think AC1 was quite bood
enought for more of the same. Someone convinced me, and I saw AC2 cheap
earlier this year, and loved it. I then started on Brotherhood soon after
completing 2, and am loving that. Hopefully in the new year I'll be able
to pick up Revelations for teh cheeps.

Also, playing AC1 first helps make more sense of some of the AC2 story, of
course.

There's still a bit of that in Brotherhood, but the roof
scrambling/parkour stuff seems much improved.
