Dark Souls (PS3) Finished NG, started NG+. It's broken. But far be it from me to rant about it. There's another post for that. Disc Drivin (iOS) I'm pants at this. On my first go in the league I fell off, and on my second go (different track) I ended up dunching someone, and we both fell off. Sorry to whoever that was :/ GLWG (Android) Finally, a turn based war game with bases. A bit like Advance Wars but a billion times worse. Still a million times better than any other turn based war game on Android. Hooray! Chime (PS3) Charming. Much better than Lumines. Want Skyrim. Cheap. Uncharted 3. Cheap. Christine. Cheap (£52 in Grainger Games - what?) Bin Dark Souls (PS3) It's in the trade in pile - only playing until I can get shot of it. 3DS (3DS) Off to CeX it went, £116 for the console and a couple of shit games (I realise that a 3DS game being shit doesn't narrow the field much). Eh? Lost count. Apathy. Not much though, I'm reigning in my gaming spending, and will be negative for the last 6 months now probably. |

Portal 2 (PC) FINISHED! Loved it. Looking forward to trying PC/PS3 co-op with a mate. > Want Half Life 3 (PC) Can't wait to see how they integrate Aperture and Black Mesa. To see what else comes up in the Steam sale. > Bin Not being sure what to focus on next. Batman feels a bit too consoley at the moment, can't quite face restarting STALKER a third time, and it's a bit far in the opposite direction. -- -Toby Add the word afiduluminag to the subject to circumvent my email filters. |

Induced a bug in the quest system that causes you to stop being able to collect dragon souls, among other things. My development QA instincts tell me that there's a loop in the mission logic that never resolves, and so there are prerequisites that never get filled. I'm noticing that certain quest objections never get completed, even after you finish each individual assignment. It was worth reverting to an old save to keep going, but the fact that it happened again after only a few hours of play tells me that this is an endemic problem and not just a one-off piece of weirdness. I've kept playing, at the expense of losing full progress in a couple of the more interesting side quests. I'm hoping that clearing out some of the one-off procedurally-generated quests will resolve the issue. 3D Dot Heroes (PS3) - Hee. I totally get why this was done on the PS3, as Nintendo generally declines to parody itself in this manner. Nintendo also prefers to explore new technology, or at least remake more recent games. A revisit to the grand days of the first Zelda is best pointed at the adults who grew up with it. The traditional RPG structure, with the towns and the side missions, reminds me a little bit of the Seiken Densetsu games too. Daytona (PS3) - Caught some air on turn three of the oval in a five-wide approach. That hadn't happened to me in this new port until this weekend. Seems to happen a lot in the arcade thought, especially when there are a lot of human players on the track. >Want Portable Elder Scrolls games - The mobile phone hackfest doesn't count. I'm hoping that the Vita is powerful enough for them to follow through on the threat to port Oblivion to a handheld. I need to dig out the N-gage game just to see if it's worth playing at this late date. >Bin Nothing game-related. Not ready to heave Dark Souls out the window yet, I fully intend to return to it. >Eh? Balance Forward - $1,727 -KKC, who has a pile of work to do today. -- -- "They were in love. I hate playing, wondering if maybe the game is broken or not -should I go back to a previous save or will these "features" iron themselves out eventually. Even if it turns out to not be a bug or a problem, the fact that I spend 5 hours thinking about it separates me from the game usually long enough for the magic to dissolve and for everything thereafter (if anything) to be less fun. I know that won't happen with Zelda though. ![]() -Kevin. |

Turtle - Re-Shelled (360 XBLA) Completed this with Monster yesterday, old school gaming only about an hour long. DLC Quest (XBLA - Indie Game) Only 80 points and about an hour but enjoyable. > Disc Drivin (iOS) > > I'm pants at this. Sorry to whoever that was :/ I've not played any turns on this over the weekend, really slow on my iOS games at the moment. Rage (360) - Did not get time to play this over the weekend, will get time during the week due to slashing the amount of TV programs I watch. LP2 (360) - Hopefully this evening & maybe another session in the week so we can move on a bit. > Want Seriously do I need to buy anything else - I purchased a stupid number of games last week. Only thing is, I've already been to the place they want me to go to and in my inventory is said staff. There appears to be no way to skip the bit where I go find the thing. I've very tempted to take it back there, put it in a chest, leave, save, then go back in and find it again. |

Tried both Jedi Consular and Knight classes. Though in the case of the latter it was because the server with my Consular on was too busy. Not unexpected as this was the last big beta weekend and a lot of extra people had been invited to it. Skyrim (PC) - AMD finally released a beta driver that added Crossfire support to this game, so I thought I'd give it a go. > Play Skyrim (PC) - Got a bit lost with this at the end of last week. More a case of too many things to do and nothing was drawing me in particularly. I spent most of saturday and sunday just exploring, completing a few ingredient-centric fetch quests as I did so. On my return to riften I noticed that I had a quest there at the orphanage....starting that one off seems to have done the trick and now I'm engrossed in another storyline. Rayman: Origins (PS3) - Played through the first world last night. Very enjoyable stuff. A bit too reminiscent of DKCR at times, but having no real experience of prior iterations of either game, I'm not really in a position to work out who's aping who... ;o) Lovely to look at, and lots of replay value in the levels so far. > Want Not a great deal. Dead Island at 17.99 on console is very tempting, but I'd want to play that co-op and I don't really have the time for that right now. > Bin > 3DS (3DS) Ditto. > Off to CeX it went, £116 for the console and a couple of shit games (I > realise that a 3DS game being shit doesn't narrow the field much). I chanced my arm with a buy it now/best offer on ebay and it sold in about an hour. Net profit was all of about 3 quid more than if I'd taken it to CEX, but with the enormous benefit of not having to queue up in CEX. |
